Paul needs a new trainer, someone who actually knows what they're doing. The comments in the article only solidify that. It is'nt like Martinez did not land that punch before the"one".

      Get a new trainer Paul!

Right he'll fight anyone from 147-160, but he made Martinez defend his middleweight tittle at a catchweight of 158.

Peterson's a sore loser, Williams struggled in their first fight, it couldve gone either way, then he gets iced in the rematch, accept it and move on, he still has something to offer but stop making excuses and fix up his defence. and what the hell does he mean "Paul was in control of the fight until he got caught"??? it was a good round 1 and in round 2 he got dropped, stop embarrassing yourself and fix up your fighters defence.

G.Peterson said a huge bull**** when he says that that punch was a desperate punch, that punch is simply THE KO OF THE YEAR!
Peterson thought that MARTINEZ was QUINTANA,so Peterson let PW fight the rematch in the same way PW fought the rematch with QUINTANA,HUGE MISTAKE AND NOW READING THIS ARTICLE I HAVE TO SAY THAT THEY DESERVED THE LESSON MARTINEZ GAVE TO PW AND HIS TEAM!!!
PW has a great stamina so he didn't need to do the things fast in the ring, anyway MARAVILLA in 2 rounds hit clear PW in the face with his left many times!!!

Trainer is trying to discredit Martinez

I have a watched this knockout at least 5 times and Martinez didnt throw that ko punch out of desperation. He threw that punch because he had success landing it 4 or 5 times previously during that 2nd round. Paul Williams had his right hand up but Martinez punched over it and landed it. That last punch he shuffled his feet to get maximum leverge on his punch, pivoted and followed through with his left with power and connected. It was a beautifully thrown, well timed, left hook that connected. Paul Williams should not fight at 160. 154 should be his limit because he can take those punches well at those weight classes. I can see Williams fighting at 154 against the winner of Cotto/Margarito if that rematch ever happens. I can also see him facing Spinks or Mosley as well in future fights at 154, but he should take a tune up against a top 10 no name fighter and then head into a big name fight at 154 later on in 2011. He may prove to be chinny at any weight after that knockout!

Desperation?.... my arse. I had Sergio winning the 1st round anyway.

With a defence as bad as his, Williams was always one solid punch away from being KTFO.

Guess this trainer is trying to draw attention away from the fact Pwilly fought the same way and got tagged for not making adjustment to the punches he took in the first fight..I was not one who said Pwill should change trainers, but I must say if he don't realize his mistake then he might have to..Pwilly needs to start fighting tall or he will suffer more KO's the word is out on Pwill and every big puncher in the game will be lined up around the block to fight him if he keeps this over aggressive style..

Martinez should have won the first fight.....but after that fight the Williams mystery was solved. That punch was not luck. Martinez had him timed. He studied him the first round and started catching him flush on the chin....more evidence was the way he was catching him before the big punch. Williams will never beat Martinez again. I don't see Peterson screaming rematch and I thought Emmanuel Steward was nuts saying Williams won round one or how the HBO guys were talking about his pressure. He was walking into punches. Watch Maidana that was pressure.
