    Comments Thread For: Andre Berto Would Consider Fighting Juan Manuel Marquez

    Last week, Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum told krikya360.com's Robert Morales that Juan Manuel Marquez had to prove himself in the welterweight division to get a third fight with Manny Pacquiao. He said a third meeting with Marquez is a difficult fight to sell because the boxing public doesn't view Marquez as a legit welterweight threat.

      Why jmm? he is a LW for goodness sake. Why not clottey or zaveck? they are Berto's own size and can give him good competition..

        Let them fight at 147lbs., the last time MARQUEZ fought above135lbs, he lost to Mayweather jr.!

        And let them fight through PPV! To see their maketability, and prove their worth on their demand for higher percentage;

        The WINNER will have a chance to fight Pacman in late 2011!

          Erm what you on about. JMM wants Pacquaio, if JMM gets passed Beerto then he earns the shot.

          Katsidis and Juan Diaz do not earn you a shot at Pac at 147.

          Katsdis lost to Juan and Cassamyor who was 38 and shot.
          Juand Diaz lost to Nate and already got KO'd by JMM and lsot to Paulie.

          Both of them are 135 fighters and not that good.

          Heck if you have to war Katsidis to beat him, then how is he going to beat Pac at 147?

            Berto isnt getting the Pacquiao fight as long as Arum is around, Someone close to the real deal already said Berto needs to leave Al Haymon before Arum would entertain the idea of him negotiating with him, So Berto can fight king kong for all we care and Arum would still use excuses to avoid negotiating with Al Haymon.

              If Berto was willing to move down to 140 I got no problem. But calling them out and telling them to move to 147, that's a ***** move.

                  You did read the article right? Berto said he would fight anybody if HBO put up the money for it. I believe he mentioned Cotto before he said Marquez. He also said he'd fight his manditories.
