Bad decision big time, good luck in finding high class sparring now..Wild Card gym got the best fighters and sparring at the same time...bad decision by his father to get his son out of there..that's my two cents..the kid is really talented but needed more time in the Wild Card gym imo
Yes the sparring is a hgue part of the wildcard.

Most people pay a few K to get that sort of sparring in.

Bernavidez is the future if he has a chin.

    I like him

I think in Roach's mind, this kid has a lot of time to mature.

Pac, Khan and Jr. are all in their mid 20's early 30's.

This kid is still a teenager.

I think Roach was going to focus more on Benavidez when Pac retired, but now who knows?

Maybe he is planning to go back later in his life.

That's a BIG time decision, I'm not doubting his pops skills in training since after all he did win the chip at 16. Just hopes he stays humble, interesting it said in the article that he felt "cooped" up inside the room just watching movies ,nothing wrong with being 18 and stuck in a top notch las Vegas room watching movies when u a PRO boxer.it's better than being unfocused ******** away ur fight purse money.there will be plenty of time to do that when u get big fights.hope he feels comfortable with the decision and has no regrets in the future.just stay with top rank

i get that sparring is important but this kid is very different. his skill level reminds me of how fighters like shane mosely roy and mayweather were out the gate. sparring wont matter that much with a special talent like him. he will get his baptism by fire, in the ring. hes that good.

He is a can't miss prospect and America's next great boxer.....with or without the Wild Card Gym.

But having Freddie Roach groom him for several years would have been really good for Benavidez. It's a shame that Roach spreads himself too thin with guys like Vanes and Chavez Jr.
