Would you rather be featherfisted with an iron chin or chinny with a big punch?

Khan's problem with Maidana was that besides the body shot, he could only somewhat slow down the truck that is Maidana. And Khan has decent pop. Imagine a Malignaggi in there with Maidana last night. Would've been absolutely nothing stopping Maidana from just walking through him and throwing everything until one landed.

Look at Khan/Malignaggi. Or Cotto/Malignaggi. Any fighter that Malignaggi couldn't outslick (and eventually there'll always be someone), he just had almost no shot with. A beating received with no real chance of winning and the only good to maybe come of it is to show your cojones in taking a punch. Sounds like a nightmare to me.
yep, if you're featherfisted, you need:

      - impregnible defense
      - grantie chin
      - boundless stamina
      - voloumous punching
      - incredible skills

      otherwise you're ****ed.

only guys to pull of being feather fisted is probably whitaker and maybe calderon.

maidana would win or lose a close decision over malignaggi. maidana get outboxed, but he also doesn't get ****ed up with that bodyshot.

You can win in two different ways... decision or knockout. Being feather fisted doesn't preclude a decision win.

However, with a ****ty chin, if you get knocked out, you can't win.

Easy decision for me. Chin with no power all day.

I like Paulie and as you can see he's harshly featherfisted because of hand problems but he does have an iron chinned despite being "stopped" twice. We all know those stoppages weren't really him being KTFO, he was stopped on taking to much punishment but he was on his feet in both fights.

Then you see other featherfisted boxers like Calzaghe[same reason as Paulie, hand problems] and Mayweather[hand problems as well], Calzaghe who retired undefeated and had a really good style to match his injured hands. Mayweather another boxer who only has 4KO's above Super Featherweight but has a very good style to match his broken right hand. See you can be featherfisted and have a style to match you, to utilize the abilities you do have. If you're feaherfisted, it doesn't mean you won't be in a fight. It just means you need be smarter with your style. Paulie has a style that really isn't the best style for him.

But at the end of the day, I would like to be a weak chinned hard puncher. Because you will be able to end fights before the scheduled amount of rounds. As a featherfist you'll have to have legs and be able to outbox or outwork your opponent for 4, 10, 12 rounds.

Young Juan Diaz and Paul Williams are two others that come to mind.

Maybe a Malignaggi around the time he fought Cotto could perhaps eke out a decision.

I think today's Malignaggi vs last night's Maidana gets rolled. Even with his proven chin.
