Mares has regressed badly as a fighter since leaving Beristain

Now he looks like an average poor man's version of Israel Vazquez.
A slow plodder that does everything average, has no real speed and power to speak of.

He's already lost twice and he will lose again.

I thought he won last night but I thought it was close that it could of gone either way. If anybody had Vic winning I won't argue.

But, I do agree his technical form has suffered since leaving Nacho.

His fight with Agbeko will be very interesting. Not a gimme like everybody think it is.

He is regressing as a fighter. He used to be a lot classier, now he just looks average.

Whoever is training him is not doing him any favors.

Vic has skills, but people don't give him no credit.

Of course he does, you just not going to beat the guys that he beat after Donaire without skills. He relies more on his size, strength, and power though. But, look at the Mijares fight. Even though Mijares didn't fight his fight the credit should be giving to Vic for making Mijares fight a different way than what he is use to.

Vic has underrated skills but people don't give him credit for hit but people don't give him credit for it cuz he is not fundamentally sound or not textbook enough or is awkward or blah blah..He has skills.

Saying all that I think Yonnhy Perez beats him in the consolation fight.

Mares is the same fighter, just different tactics.

He has good hand speed, but his foot speed and reflexes are average for a fighter the level and style of a Darchinyan that avoids inside fighting and stays out of range until he punches.

Som of you motha***as act like Mares is facing Bernabe Concepcion's and not a dominant 2 divsion champ. Now I can see why fighters sometimes avoid threats.
