5 million dollars? how is that not fair? he made 4 million plus for fighting floyd----5 million compared to what manny will make is more than fair--and if manny doesn't make the fight--it is a blatant duck of a guy who has just won 2 fights back to back--

jmm would be a harder fight for manny than mosley--unless he forces him to move up to 147---

Arum is proposing to pay Marquez equivalent to what JMM got from his fight with Mayweather, maybe adjusted for inflation.

Seems fair to me. Question is how much did JMM earn in that fight?

        Anyone knows?

          Or was it?
the fact that arum has been fixated on mosley instead of attempting to negotiate with gb over marquez is an example of what's wrong with boxing. i guess he's convinced the public is gullible enough to buy any pac fight vs a stiff or washed up fighter with name recognition. for the good of the sport, i hope he's proven wrong.

That's the thing. You don't fight fire with fire. If Marquez really wants the fight he could at least accept the equivalent of what he got in his fight with Mayweather. That's reasonable. Especially when he'll never make that kind of money for the rest of his boxing career.

In short, the money is secondary, even tertiary, IF he's really interested in the fight as he claims he is. It appears that he's not.

How much money do you guys think Marquez deserves? I agree that 5 might be overpricing but how much does Marquez really deserve?

jmm's price should only be the same with that of clottey's i think.

jmm's move to welterweight should have been long ago along side with pac. but i guess he does not have the roids to keep up with pac.

jmm won't beat cotto, jmm won't hurt margarito, maybe he would draw with oscar, he'll be lucky against hatton...

pac made cotto backpedal, pac made a japanese out of a mexican, he made dela **** a quitter, he made hatton see stars...

I'd say one or two mil. But considering how Marquez kept on insulting pac and DEMANDING that Pac fight him like he deserves it more than anyone else, i don't think Pac would prioritize him over others who are less insulting and who are willing to fight for less.

again, gb never indicated that they're unwilling to compromise on the amount and arum never agreed to match the amount marquez made against mayweather. just last week, arum was running around to all the media outlets claiming that marquez was unknown to the public and that fans arent interested in a third clash.
