Comments Thread For: Ricky Hatton, Billy Graham Settle £1.4million Legal Battle

Former two division champion Ricky Hatton has settled a £1.4million legal claim that was made against him by his former trainer Billy Graham. The case began to unravel at Manchester's Civil Justice Centre on Monday. They reached an undisclosed but "mutually acceptable" agreement at a Wednesday hearing. Graham, once a very close friend of Hatton, accused the boxer of failing to pay the proper funds from the fights against Juan Lazcano and Floyd Mayweather.

If Ricky indeed failed to pay those fees then Graham should have gotten the full 1.4M, hopefully that's how it went down behind closed doors but Graham did a lot for Ricky, I think with Billy Graham in his corner Ricky might have done better against Manny, it's a chemistry thing. for the record I still don't think Ricky would have won he would probably have done better though because Graham would have had him sticking to what he knows

I hope Graham received the money he wanted and expected to be paid. I cannot imagine injecting my hands with pain killers every day just to train someone. I truly believe for Graham there was a bond. Too bad hatton crapped all over that bond.

I blame Floyd! He destroyed this guy in every way! Well the date with the ringpost didnt help followed by the coke and heavy heavy heavy drinking and months of crying.

Yup its safe to say this dude was done! F**king Mayweather, he should be put in jail for this.

It's the reason I said Pac would beat Hatton to the point that people would actually think he could beat Mayweather.

That's one of the things that always irked me about this dude. He has TONNES and TONNES of fans, a GORGIOUS girlfriend who seems to love him regardless of his ring glory, more money than I would know how to spend in 3 lifetimes and he has been to more places in the world than the richest 1%...yet he cries for months about a loss.

Make no mistake about it, I get weeping over it that night...or maybe even a couple of times. But for frigging MONTHS?! Naw. ****, he had the respect of his fans for going almost 10 rounds, he WON a couple of those rounds and he had the respect of the fighter who beat him for his tenacity and heart. Jeezuz...moral victory? Yes. But that was not good enough for him.

FFS I would have probably pushed for a rematch, and if that did not work, eff it, retire and enjoy life.

It was his first loss. He wanted to be the best so bad that when he was over matched he just took it too hard as he's always been on the winning side. I look at Hatton and I think if Joe Calzaghe would have came to America instead of waiting on everyone to age he would have ended up just like Hatton too. Especially if he would have fought the P4P #1 Jones and not the concussion Jones. Hatton's little crying spree wouldn't have been anything in comparison as I think Calzaghe would have went over the edge with a real loss.

Anyway, like I said Hatton never had a chance when he signed to fight pac even if it was "at his weight" which is contradicting as they don't call Ricky "Fatton" for nothing. After his loss to Mayweather who Ricky thought he was going to walk all over with his pressure, he was done. Like you said, a rematch with Floyd or retire. I think he was hoping for a rematch by thinking he was going to beat Pac by "boxing" like Mayweather... that there was a sign something was horribly wrong. Let alone firing his entire career long team.

Hatton got what he deserved for selling out and hiring Floyd Sr. He deserved to be embarrassed the way he was against Pacquiao.
