wasn't just domination, katsidis was getting lit the **** up.

katsidis was slowing down big time. his legs were wobbly. his head was snapping back with every punch. his reaction time was slower. his punches lost steam.

you just don't let a warrior like that just keep taking senseless damage like in the pac/margarito fight.

i also wish the ref the hadnt stepped in. not because katsidis had a chance to win but because it would have been exciting to see him get ktfo.

I think the official surmised (correctly, IMO) that Katsidis wasn't coming back from that punishment and possibly saved a bit of Mike's career.

Yes, Marquez was close to having a 10-8 round. Yes, Katsidis was not throwing back (until, oddly enough, the very last exchange before the fight was stopped), but was still moving. Bayless should have at least waited until he was knocked down. He was taking major punishment but had not as yet shown signs of getting really staggered or rocked. The round was near it's end, and I think Katsidis would have survived (although he would likely have been stopped in the next round). Still, the distinction is important, he deserved the chance given the magnitude of the bout.
It's not about moving you have to defend you yourself intellegently and Katsidis was not doing that . When a fighter takes 8,9,10 consecutive shots without responce it's time to stop the fight!

u know what... im actually pissed off about the stoppage now... because it only made marquez not able to knock his azz out..

                  Wow.

Personally, and call me soft, but I think that would have been heartbreaking and not something I'd enjoy seeing at all, considering what Mike had gone through and everything he gave in there tonight.

He's a quality individual and tonight, I don't care, he just deserved to finish on his feet...and to maybe have a little bit of his career saved.

Better a little early than a little late. That said, Katz wasn't complaining. Props to Katsidis for being the warrior he is.

No need for the fight to continue. Katsidis basically stopped throwing and was backing away from Marquez. Sure it would have been great to see Marquez put the final stamp on it, but in the end the ref made the correct decision.
