in regards to comparing Floyd maybe fighting Pac to SRL fighting Hagler. If I was Floyd I would never do an interview with him ever again. The problem is mainstream fans believe what they hear. If Floyd fights Pac then its because he wants to fight Pac. Nothing about this fight wouldve made Floyd wanted to fight Pac more. Nothing about this fight made Pac look any more vulnerable to Floyd.
He went on & on about how Pac got hit more in this fight than any other fight but the truth is he was fighting the biggest guy he's ever fought, he had 17 pounds on him, and most of all he fought Margarito. This guy holds some compubox records for punches in a round. Margarito's punch output combined with his size advantage & Pac's willingess to mix it up was always going to allow Margarito to land some shots on him. Its just a ****** comment by Max.
I think he & some others are comparing the fight to the Mosley-Margarito fight. They see that Pac got hit more than Shane did & that he didnt stop him like Shane did so they assume that Pac has lost it some or that he didnt do as good as Mosley but thats not the truth. There is 1 big difference in those fights that people fail to remember. Holding! Shane held Margarito. He got off & then always held him so Margarito couldnt respond.
Say what you want about the plaster but Margarito is still pretty big & heavy handed. If Mosley doesnt hold Margarito then Margarito wouldve landed alot on Shane and there is no way he stops him in 8 rounds if he doesnt hold. Now, thats not to discredit Mosley. It was more than a fair win & a great performance but what Pac did by being little & never holding Margarito the whole fight was amazing. IDK if he couldve held like Shane anyways due to his lack of size. Margarito may have tired him out but its also tiring having that big dude following you around all fight & throwing shots non stop.
This performance doesnt make Pac look vulnerable, easier to beat, or anything else. It may even make it look harder if you really know boxing because he was big, strong, fast, could take a punch, and was obviously in tremendous shape. That Margarito still beats Cotto if you ask me. The comments are bad because it takes away from Pac's perfomance & makes it look like he's slipping while it also diminishes anything Floyd does in regards to the fight. If he takes it now then its only because he saw Pac slipping & if he wins its only because Pac isnt the same guy when thats not the truth at all. I wouldnt do any interviews with him
