I can't imagine the pressure Manny Pacquaio has on his shoulders right now. Less than a week from now Manny will step in the ring with one of the toughest welter weights in the world. Antonio Margarito may not be the most skilled fighter out there Shane Mosely exposed that, but he can trade punches with almost anybody. Margarito's relentless attack and vicious body blows made him the most feared welter weight a couple of years ago.
On November 13th the Tijuana Tornado will get a shot at taking down the self proclaimed greatest boxer to ever live Manny Pac-Man Pacquaio. Last night on 60 minutes Manny expressed he had accomplished all his goals pertaining to boxing so a win will this weekend will only be a bonus. It's been several reports stating that Manny Pacquaio has not been totally committed to his training. Trying to juggle his political obligations and boxing career has to be really challenging. I can't imagine someone fighting for his eighth title in as many divisions will take this fight lightly. I don't buy Freddie Roach's discontentment with Pacquaio training I think its a psychological game he is playing with Antonio.
Whether Manny is ready are not its obvious Margarito is taking this fight very serious he reportedly is in the best shape of his life. If he doesn't have challenges making the catch weight limit of 151 pounds we may see a blood fest. Freddie Roach has predicted a late knockout after Manny has entertained the crowd. I think if Manny decides to play with he may be in for a rude awakening.
So what happens to the super fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio if Margarito pulls of the upset? Does Antonio Margarito inherit the big payday with Floyd Mayweather? I think that fight would be a easier fight to put together since I doubt Margarito would hesistate to agree to take any drug test to face Floyd Mayweather. Or does Manny keep that fight since it is a welter weight fight and the recent build up gives him entitlement.
I think if Manny does lose Saturday night he may lose his confidence and retire. He has already accomplished what he wanted with boxing if the reports are true a loss may be just what he needs to totally commit to his family and politics. I did get the feeling he is looking to run for president of the Philippines. If the scenario does play out with Margarito becoming victorious we may see Floyd and Margarito in 2011, maybe that's been Bob Arum's plan all along.
Pathetic how these writers try to "big up" Manny ve Cheato's match "predicting" if cheato "wins" he may fight Floyd. Hilarious.
First off Cheato isn't "winning" anything except the biggest payday of his career and the promise of future fights. That 8th vacant belt is reserved for Manny for future negotiations. All the nerds buying into this disgrace of a fight are living in Wapakman fantasy land.
Floyd will come out from vacation shortly after the Cheato Manny fight to immediately have people forgetting that farce. Floyd will do what a real champion does and be called out by the winner of Williams Martinez thus blowing away Manny's fraudulent "accomplishment" and proving once again who the real p4p and attraction is in a real challenge.
