Comments Thread For: Trainer Morgan Talks Mayweather's Impact, Berto's Future

In the sport of boxing it’s far from uncommon to see a world class athlete become complacent and switch trainers deep into their career. Such cases as Emanuel Steward helping Miguel Cotto and Naazim Richardson working with ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley instantly come to mind. What does seem to be rare is when a coach guides his student all the way through both the amateur and professional ranks without much notice while later claiming championship glory.

Berto's condition is better than his skill, if he kicks up his technique a nach he could be considered great.

I think Andre Berto has great talent but for some reason
has reached his peak. He should have never struggled
with Urango and he should have tried a lil harder to make
the Collazo fight. I used to think Berto could have been
on Mayweather's level but now not sure about that at
all. Berto needs for his trainer to bring out some more
of that hidden talent and shape him into a complete
            fighter.

Nah, I think he has way more skills than stamina. Berto gasses
alot in his fights leaving his mouth open gasping for air. I look
at him like Cotto. Great talent and potential but need new corners
              to teach them something new.

As far as "Respect", you don't have to like, love, or hate someone to respect them. There is a difference and no matter WHO you are and what you do, a REAL boxing fan "respects" Floyd Mayweather Jr and what he has done in the ring.

Disliking someone has nothing to do with "Respecting" them. If anyone has even served in the military you would understand the logic much easier.

Too many people on here are very simple minded....
