I simply said that Ward was unproven at that time, which was true, and that he couldn't be judged until he had fought a top contender, which was also true. Lots of fighters have looked good on their way up and then been exposed as soon as they fought a good fighter. And plenty of Olympic Gold medallists have failed as pros - e.g. Audley Harrison.

Kessler was ranked #1 at the time by every independent rankings body including The Ring, and by every boxing journalist; so you presumably think they were all on his nuts as well.

I did not say Kessler would win, I only said he should be the favourite, and every boxing journalist in the world agreed with me. But favourites often lose, especially when the opponent is an unknown quantity at the top level. You just hated Kessler because of the colour of his skin, because you're a racist. Whereas I like Ward, I simply said he was unproven as a pro.

And Ward wasn't seriously overweight and out of training, so comparing him with Solis is laughable. Question for you: if Solis is beaten badly by Vitali next year, will you give Vitali props, or will you claim that Solis was a bum?

Being world Heavyweight champion is a far bigger deal to British sports fans than anything else in boxing. And even casual sports fans know that the Klitschkos are the #1 and #2 ranked fighters in the division, and that beating either of them would get Haye worldwide recognition as a real world champion, rather than just a belt-holder. Haye vs. either Klitschko would massively outsell Hatton-Mayweather. Hatton at that time was more popular than any small fighter had been before, but he still didn't get anything like the sort of press coverage that Lewis had got when he was in his prime.

Plus Haye has been trash talking the Klitschkos constantly for the past two years, and every fight he has had as a Heavyweight has been in the context of a build up to fighting them. To claim that after all that, the fight wouldn't sell far more than the Valuev fight did is just silly.

There's no comparing Klitschko to Valuev. Valuev is sloooow ponderous and creaking whereas Klitschko is deceptively fast, covers the ground quickly and has very fast and extremely accurate hands. As well, he is an expert at cutting off the ring, which is why nobody has been able to get away from his punishment.

AND he can and does, deal out punishment is huge helpings at each serving.

Rather as what I was going to write. The Klitschko's are, after all, storied Champions of epic proportions and accomplishments, and I'd bet that they would draw massively in Britain, since that country, the birthplace of prizefighting, respects the Title and the Holder.

THEY KNOW WHO THE KLITSCHKO's ARE ALRIGHT AND WOULD TURN OUT IN DROVES TO SEE THEM.

They wouldn't turn out to see them fight any non-British fighter. They do respect the title, but unfortunately, most of them do not respect the title holder unless he happens to be British. You only have to spend a short time reading the British sports press to realise that.

No boxing PPV has ever done 3 million. Not even those with the sport's biggest cash cow, Oscar de la Hoya.

I highly doubt that the relatively boring Klitschkos will pull that number especially with the world economy being the way it is.

50/50 is a generous offer from the Klitschkos...I doubt they have offered anyone else that kind of deal.If Haye doesn't accept it,then he doesn't want to fight them in the first place.

We will see how he does in his next fight. He should win easily, but weirder things have happened.

The difference is PPVs are $50-60 in America.

They are only 15 euros(about 20 bucks) in England.

I totally agree.. If David Haye doesn't accept this offer, then he just doesn't want to fight them. Personally, I thought the Klits should get the bigger piece of the pie so 50-50 is way more than fair... David: Take the fight of shut the f**k up!!

I'm not trying to take anything away from Haye, but he has to remember that the Klitschko's bring in huge audiences as well. You can tell that there would be big problems choosing which country he should fight in...obviously he wont want to fight in Germany.

I'm not a Klitschko fan at all,but 50/50 is beyond generous and shows that they are at least putting a reasonable offer on the table.Either way,if he fights them,he is getting ktfo unless his style changes. You cannot fight the Klitschkos at a distance and try to move in and out like Haye has been doing since he moved to the HW division....you gotta be aggressive until they wilt-this applies to Wlad especially.
