If Haye beat Vitali it would make a Wlad fight 10x bigger.

      this is totally true ^

however i'd never in a million years want to see haye beat vitali. even IF vitali has slowed a lot, if haye beats him, it is still a very legitimate victory. even an aging and slowing vitali is still one TOUGH dude to beat. i thought he looked fantastic against arreola. he showed that he has slowed some in that fight but he still knows how to get the job done well with what hes got left in the tank. i don't think hayes speed advantage will be enough to overcome vitali's ring smarts and boxing skills. however if he did beat vitali it would most surely be because he is past his prime. regardless, i'd still give haye a lot of credit for doing it. as a klitschko fan, i want wlad to get the shot against haye though, not vitali. i'd rather vitali fight valuev. but as a fan of the sport and a fan of super fights, if haye DID beat vitali then the wlad fight would be MONSTROUS, people would actually be giving haye a legitimate shot. HBO should do some sort of piece on it - but they are ******ed and don't televise heavyweights anymore.

Vitali looked great against Arreola but against Johnson he looked slower and more vulnerable to being hit, and against Sosnowski he looked slower and more vulnerable still. He's slowed quite a lot just in the past year, and is likely to slow as much again in the next year. So if Haye signs to fight him late next year, he may well have slowed to the point where Haye's speed will be decisive. I wouldn't mind so much if Haye was honest about his strategy, or at least if the British media was honest about it, but that won't happen. He'll pretend he's taking the more difficult fight of the two, and the British media will go along with the pretence. IMO, he knows he has no chance against Wlad, and that's why he won't fight him, at least until he's made as made as much money as he possibly can from other fights. It's a deeply cynical game he's playing, and his remaining fans are either also deeply cynical or extremely gullible.
