EDWIN VALERO said in an interview that he thought GUZMAN was the better(superfeatherweight time) and not JM MARQUEZ like all people were saying in those days!
I had the same idea, don't forget that current WBC lightweight champ(SOTO) looked like an amateur vs GUZMAN,if GUZMAN can make the weight at 135 he can clear the division.
Valero wasnt known for his brains he was a fighter...lol as for giving Guzman a million chances..you be the one or two who give him million and one and wonder whats the problem...everyone else sees reality for what it is...How someone believes a guy can "clear a division" based on a fight a yr for 4 yrs is nuts. The last 7 Guzman opponents have a combined 30 losses while his next will make 8 with 40 losses....spare us.

Guzman has very good boxing skills but it seems like Joan Guzman has had weight issue's from the moment he started fighting as a pro cause he NEVER stuck with a specific weight class, he kept on going up & down fighting in jr featherweight, featherweight & jr lightweight category's in his 1st dozen or so fights!!(as a matter of fact his 1st fight was at featherweight, his 2nd was down at jr featherweight & his 3rd he went all the way up to jr lightweight) & it's hard to believe that a fighter goes up in weight cause he's having problems making the previous weight, but yet comes in OVERWEIGHT!!! & that has been the case with Guzman!! I don't know if it's that he likes to eat a lot or what his case is, cause in his fights he does go the rounds, he just can't do the weight!! & yet he hasn't been sanctioned like some other fighters in the past!!

Joan will never reach his full potential because of his eating habits.. Its thats simple.. The mother efffer loves to eat.. He comes in pudgy all the time.. Had he maintained his weight at 130 he wouldve been able to outbox the pacman.. But those days are over.. Hes lazy as well.. I was a big fan of the guy until his last fight.. He won, but in the ****tiest way possible.. Hes always in horrible shape.. U gotta get SR in the equation, or a least someone thats a good trainer..

guzman offered a fight to mathysse ! but he instead took the judah fight on hbo. cant blame him tho as it makes more sense business wise

2 reasons why hes not with senior. 1. his health. 2 sr felt guzman was spending too much time with david beur guzmans former nutrionist and conditioner. they did make the perfect match too

Guzman at any weight is one of the best. Can't wait to see Sanchez ll fight live in NYC, I saw the kid fight in Dallas on the Pacquiao card, he has more talent than Chavez Jr or Canelo, he just needs to get the right trainer to bring it out of him.

Guzman is a disgrace, and all of his fights are boring as hell.

Mendez who is on the under card is something to be excited about though.
