And, I am rooting for Pac but if Marg wins I won't be disappointed.
I understand that you keep going up in weight and fighting these bigger guys as a tune up sooner or later it will bite you in the ass.
And, I still like Margarito. I don't think he deserves this fight but if he pulls it off good for him. It will shake up the sport. I felt he should of gotten this shot in August of 2006 but one overrated clown turned down his highest career payday have a fake ass hand injury as an excuse and ducked him.
But, War Pac, War Marg. IMO very entertaining fight. I think FOTY candidate and I am excited to be watching it live in attendance.
if you want Margs to win thats fine but Shaking up the sport by having a known cheater Beat either the #1 or #2 guy in the sport (and possibly retiring him) cannot possibly be good for Boxing.
Seriously it could ruin one of the only 2 Real draws our sport has right now. Sounds pretty terrible to me. Especially with the UFC on boxings heels lately.
Our top 2 guys need to keep winning until they fight eachother if not boxing could suffer greatly until the new young stars are ready to shine.
If Tim Bradley or Amir Khan beat MAnny it wouldnt be terrible because we'd have a new instant star But Tony is older and has a black cloud over him and he should not be the one you cheer for to shake up our sport in my opinion.
Ain't nothing wrong with Tony winning this fight. If he does, he fights Cotto next year. And who will argue that fight?
On the other side of things, Pacquiao losing isn't the worst thing either. It will do one of two things.
1. Open opportunities for other big fights against fighters we'd like to see him fight. Manny/JMM III & The big names in Jr. WW. They wont be able to get away with the, "Pacquiao is too good for [fighters name here]" or "Manny will KO [fighters name here]" after losing to Tony. They may even go all in with the Floyd Jr. fight if he can't beat Tony.
or
2. Manny retires. He's had a great boxing career, especially the past decade - Ain't nothing wrong with hanging them up now if he wanted to. By retiring, it opens up the doors for the fights we want to see in every division by every other fighter that called him out or fights we ask for. They wont have the excuse of calling out Manny and saying he's scared or whatever. They will have to fight the fights that are there in front of them. Maybe some old school unification goes on.
Either way, I just want a good fight. Yes, I will be buying it and I'm not ashamed because I'm a fight fan before an individual fighters fan. And undercard to main event (so far), this will be a good night of boxing on paper.
