I guess nobody remembers how Roach and company were already talking about vacating late last year/early this year instead of having to face Maidana, but they ended up paying Maidana off to buy some time.

Now that their time is up and have to face Maidana again they're looking to stall some more?

I hope it goes to a purse bid and WBA forces the match. Sanctioning bodies should do it more often.

Don't be surprised if Khan vacates the belt. It wasn't too long ago that Freddy Roach said they would vacate if forced to fight Maidana because they didn't need that fight. They paid Maidana to delay the mandatory and the same situation has come full circle.

How do purse bids work? Is there a clearly defined split between Champion and Mandator Challenger? Can the Mandatory force the purse bid option when negotiations break down?

That's what i am thinking.. it appears Maidana is asking too much for this fight. Maidana needs this fight and if ever he would win for the title he will understand how it works being a champion and how he ates all he said to Khan!
