Whats Your Take On Andre Berto?

and how good will he become?

    #2
Berto is not a prospect. He's had a long amateur career and nearly 30 fights. At 26, he should just be entering his prime. I don't know if he's going to get that much better and if you're one of his handlers - given all the hype that preceded him - that's gotta be alarming.

The first time I seen Berto on the Taylor vs Ouma undercard. I thought he was the truth. But after the Rivera and Forbes fights. I thought he was alright. He probably won't ever fight Pac or Mayweather. Maybe won't fight Mosley or Cotto. He might have a chance to rule this version of the WW divison. It's become so damn weak. This divison has never been weak either until now

He's decent, but nothing special. His boxing skills are limited, he has very overrated foot movement and no head movement. He reminds me of David Haye in many ways. He relies on speed, power and accuracy. Without that, he's nothing more than your average fighter. He's yet to prove that he's anything better than a B class WW right now, and at the rate he's going I don't think he'll ever be anything better than that. Oh, and he's a ticket to a shot at Pacquiao or Floyd waiting to happen (whoever beats him becomes the #3 WW, and will get ****** off by HBO).

I like Berto...He's not going to get any better tho.I feel he was on his way before the whole Haiti thing and that setback really took him out of the loop. I hope he can make 140 to make things even more interesting down there.

I think being managed by Al Haymon is just a recipe for mediocrity

hes well on his way to be an ATG cherry picker, imo. right behind Zsolt Erdie and Anthony Mundine, two of my other favorite fighters.

berto is a protected HBO WW, who holds too much, and fights jr WWs.

berto is a good as he'll ever be. his boxing skills are sloppy but he gets away with it because of his athleticism.
