The Official ban Toney from Boxing Thread.

I'm a huge toney fan. Love the way he fights. Love the way he talks smack. I def had him on my p4p. If he was a middleweight in his prime right now he would clean the division.

But going to UFC and playing the boxing clown for a few dollars was a slap in the face to boxing fans. His boxing style isn't even built for MMA. He didn't even try to do the sport for real, he went in against a Greco Roman wrestler and had happen to him what everyone expected. SMH at you chasing Dana White for that fight.

Great way to support the UFC circus show, you we're nothing more than a character. And your no longer accepted in boxing.

Yeah it seems clear that he just did this crap for a payday. He is so far past it that he should retire. I agree with your post for the most part. He should have fought a striker type fighter rather than a great wrestler.

unfortunately, he didnt even attempt to try to win. He really just wanted a payday. He looked awful against Greer, and that was even an untelevised fight. He knows this is the end of the road, and hes cashing in while his name is still somewhat known.

Yet he jumped to comain event and got a nice, fat payday for playing the 'boxer' in a ******ed 'mma vs boxing' ploy of a matchup...even though it was baloney, it worked, because people bit the bait on a ****ty fight. I also thought it was hilarious how the UFC photoshopped Toney's photo to make him look in better shape, thats the UFC hype crew at work right there.

I dont think you can actually 'ban' Toney from boxing, I mean this is a sport, and he didnt really do anything wrong. Hes just fishing around and allowing himself to be a circus act to get some extra cash...Roy Jones is basically doing the same thing.
Sad to see two really once-talented, now extremely shot guys fallen so far, eh? well, I guess theyre just trying to make extra cash, and I cant overly hate them for that, but it is pretty embarressing.

It should have been clear as day that Toney wasnt even attempting to win when he weighed in 20lbs more than he did in his last fight, when he looked by far the worst of his career against Greer to begin with.

The entire thing was a joke, even how Toney was wearing a shirt in the promos.

Or how Randy was actually celebrating when he won, as if it was respectable. Even his corner joked when they handed Randy the black belt. Rogan didn't get that it was a joke for choking out James Toney.

lol i agree. Ban toney from boxing on account of the sheer amount of brain damage he sustained and force him to stay in mma to get ****d (quite literally) for the rest of his career

toney thought it was hard to get fights before, after the couture fiasco, no one will want to touch him. he's a pariah and basically is untouchable.
