Anyone who gave Pascal round 4, which includes 90% of the people who think Pascal won easily and also the HBO announcers, should throw their scorecard in the garbage. Round 4 is the best example. Dawson controlled almost the entire round. When he landed punches, they were studiously ignored by both the crowd and the announcers. Pascal went on to win the final 15 seconds of the round, landed one good punch, and the announcers talked about how he might have "stolen the round". Uh, no...

It reminded me of watching Ali get the **** beaten out of him by Norton, then Ali started dancing for the final 30 seconds of the round, not even throwing punches, and Cosell started ranting about how Ali was "stealing the round".

Learn to score a round. Take some pills or something if you can't remember the first 2:45 of a round. This was a close fight that could have gone either way (outside of Montreal). I can understand 106-103, but anyone who had it 108-101 is completely clueless.

I don't blame Pascal for the headbutt. It was clearly accidental and Dawson was the one leading with his head. I don't even blame the referee for stopping the fight. Dawson was coming on strong, and Pascal was clearly exhausted, but the cut was just too bad. The doctor did the right thing.

I am not making excuses for Dawson, who fought a ****** fight and showed little heart. I am just saying that I scored it round by round and had it 6-5 Dawson. As usual, the announcers were spouting nonsense and I noticed several rounds that they were talking about Pascal "stealing the round", but it wasn't the case. Many of the rounds were close and could have gone either way, so I have no problem with people saying Pascal won a close fight. I don't know what the people who thought it was an easy win for Pascal were smoking last night though. They must have been listening to the ****** HBO announcers and the Montreal crowd.

Couldve gone to Dawson, but the fact remains Pascal won most of the rounds.

I don't understand why people are so surprised about Dawson. This is how I see him fight every fight. Sucky, boring and with no heart. Its just that he can get away with it against shot 40 year olds and Chuy Ruiz.

I don't even think Pascal is all that great, but I knew that him being young would probably be enough for him to win.

Yes, that's the one. Dawson easily won the first 2:45 or so of the round. He landed punches, which were ignored by the announcers (gross incompetence) and the crowd (understandable bias). Pascal landed a booming right hand in the final 15 seconds, but it had absolutely no effect on Dawson. I have to say, both fighters showed good chins, although they were both hurt at points in the fight. I guess that's because they also showed poor stamina.

I don't know how anybody can give that fight to Pascal he didn't land anything clean most of the time. Plus he used a blatant headbutt to stop the fight when he was probably about to be KTFO. I can't believe this crap.

Thanks for the input, but my opinion still stands. I DVR'd the fight so I'll watch it again in the morning. Maybe I'm too drunk but I don't feel like Pascal won right now. Just nice to talk about something besides two boxers in the WW division that will never agree to fight.

I just watched the fight and Pascal won that hands down.
Dawson just needs to be more aggressive he let this guy do what he wanted.
Dawson could have killed this guy because Pascal comes in all wild and throws his punches but Dawson never tried to counter him.
Pascal leaves his hands down and was wide open for counter shot ALL NIGHT LONG.
Dawson just didnt want to get hit...he fights WAY TIMID.
Honestly I see Dawson knocking this guy out in a rematch.
I was surprised by Pascals hand speed...he threw some good combos but after he threw his combos he was wide open for ANYTHING.
Pascal needs to work on his footwork and defense....he is a good fighter.
I just dont see Dawson as a great fighter and as much as I dislike some of the things Larry Merchant says he is absolutely right about Dawson....he NEVER stands his ground.
