I can understand where you are getting at Burner. But the thing that is turning people against him including me is the fact he seems unwilling to clear up a controversial win. Could you imagine the question marks that would hover over guys like Floyd if he didn't rematch Castillo, or Dawson if he didn't rematch Johnson, or Pac if he didn't fight JMM for a second time (at least)? And it's not like Williams chose to fight these guys by choice. Martinez was a last minute replacement who was viewed as a stepping stone when they first fought. HBO is laying the hammer down with Williams to either fight Martinez again or fight Dzinziruk like a couple other people mentioned.

Just look at Pirog he gets ONE win ONE win over an overrated inexperinced glass chinned hype job who got rocked by Ishe Smith and the white ppl and europeans go bat**** crazy over him
Williams on the other hand has fought top Opposition for years Margarito, Qunitana, Martinez, Winky, hell he even wanted to fight Pavlik back when he was being overrated.
Pirog has fought Danny Jacobs......end of story
If Pirog was Black and Williams was White/Latino we'd be seeing a completely different story here on boxing****.com
Human-kind (especially whites and latinos) have been designed to value the messenger over the message so dnt any1 try to argue this....
Besides, you still here? Why don't you try leading by example, and kicking rocks to your own forum?

I don't get the **** riding of Paul Williams at all, the guy has done nothing special to merit all this attention or "respect." The biggest issue with his boxing ability is that he is 6'3" yet leans over so far to be aggressive and have a high output he nearly loses any size advantage to anyone 5'10" plus. He is also so busy throwing 100+ punches he gets hit just as much and cleanly as Margarito. He's slow as dirt, he doesn't give you any angles and he stands right in front of you. His balance and footwork are terrible as well, and as someone stated all he has going for him is size and stamina. I also saw someone mention that Manny only wins because of his "speed" and "power" and you have to work with what you have. I completely agree with that, however, Manny had problems with guys when all he had was power and speed, he didn't become the current Manny until his technique improved. Essentially all Williams has going for him is size (which can't be taught) and stamina.
But we can forget I even typed all that because all that really matters is that after he lost to Quintana, Williams had no problem taking that rematch. However, now that he won a fight that could have gone either way, he is doing his hardest to avoid the fight at all costs. To make matters worse I have seen ZERO improvement from him fight to fight. In fact, I think he looked better against Margarito than he has in any fight after. Meanwhile, Martinez just beat Pavlik who IMO is not only more powerful but better than Cintron and if Kermit hadn't jumped out of the ring Paul was well on his way to losing that fight as well. I've said all this about Paul and still haven't even brought up the fact that he is a middleweight calling out Manny/Floyd (WW's) and to make it even more laughable, if these guys were even entertaining the idea of fighting him once they ask what was you gate and ratings numbers in your last fight Paul? IDK what the ratings were, but only 300 people came to watch his fight. Paul Williams isn't "the most feared man in boxing" he's simply the least watched and thats why he can't get fights. He's not any good and he is going make Manny/Floyd lose money at best, not make any.Last edited by Beater_of_ass; 08-05-2010, 10:02 PM.

Dude Williams offered Martinez two rematches that HE turned down. So why are you acting like Paul is scared of him? I dont get that. You didnt say NOTHING when Martinez turned those fights down.

i think the most vital asset williams has is his fighting spirit he was being outboxed by martinez but his determination to win the fight was very impressive
his conditioning also must be exceptional for him to throw that many punches
of course he has flaws but his grit and determination should be admired that and he talks like he really wants to beat the **** out of you which is always good lol
