Hell, most LIGHTWEIGHT contenders couldn’t make 133 pounds if they starved themselves. Freddie Roach told me recently that Pacquiao has grown to be a small welterweight over the past year. In Freddie’s words, “Pacquiao has to skip meals to make 140."
The speed difference between lightweights and welterweights is insane. Cotto is by no means a slow WW and was made to look like a sloth. Clottey also has some of the fastest hands in the division and looked like a turtle against Pacquiao. If you ask me Pacquiao is quite a bit slower at welterweight, but he is still so much faster than natural welterweights that he looks to be just as fast to many.
I dare anyone to say Pacquiao now is as fast as the one who fought Marquez, Morales, and Barerra, he just isn't.
Also the fact that he is growing into the weight will be his downfall now.
