Nice to see Russians like Pirog making use of the excellent easten American style .

He has great defense, bends his knees, feints, counters very well. He outslicked the not so slick Jacobs.

He gets murked by Williams and martinez if you ask me, but I am glad he beat Jacobs.

Only thing I'm upset is he's 30. For some reason only the really young prospects excite me. I still can't wait to see his next fight, and enjoy the 2-3 prime years he has left.

the term "a fighter is only as good as his last fight" applies to wins and losses. he looked great against jacobs, there is no reason to not give him his due.

when he doesn't look great, give him what's due to him at that time, too.

boxing fans don't have to be on bandwagons to say that they like someone's style. i'm glad he flew under my radar and popped up with a great performance the first time i'm able to see him "live". it's these talents that come out of nowhere that give people "in the know" reasons to be excited about boxing.

i expect mayweather to dominate. i expect pacquiao to destroy. i didn't expect what pirog did last night even though i saw his previous work.

The problem with Jacobs is that he's really not as big of a puncher as his record indicates. I've thought this for a long time. Now that he's fighting guys he can't knock out, he's had to rely on boxing more. And he's just not all that skilled. He has skills, but not enough to rely on, he needs to be hitting hard to have success.

Yes this is true, his power is HIGHLY overrated. My brother sparred with him right before he went pro and said he has average power at best

He uses a very very akward yet pretty affect style. Nothing like the other europeon fighters

He has a pretty good Philly shell, peek a boo hybrid going on.
