GBP has gotten themselves in to the same predicament that Arum has with Manny, on a lesser scale. They gave Kahn a guaranteed purse so high that they can't afford to have him in with an "iffy" money opponent. So the pattern begins of promoters putting in their high paid fighters against opponents that will net them more profit and not who the fans believe is a bigger threat. The only reason they are even waiting to officially announce Marquez as Kahns next opponent (IMO) is because they need to see if Juan can still bring in the fans $$$$ support. I'm betting if Marquez/Diaz has poor PPV #'s they may have a change of heart in Kahns next opponent. I say the only way the fans have any say anymore is by not buying the PPVs. Not that the fighters aren't worth watching (because as legit boxing fans we want to watch), but because the Promoters could care less who the fans want to see them fight against. They are banking on the fans paying for the fighter and not necessarily the fight itself.

Yes, this is the state of the sport these days. Promoters and broadcasters are looking for immediate cash on PPV fights with one star fighter and disregard match ups demanded by fans. e.g. Pacquiao-Clottey (zzzzz). The long term vision is to consistently offer barn-burner cards and bring the sport back to a far larger mainstream audience for greater profits. I respect both Marquez and Diaz, but reserve PPVs for truly monumental clashes. e.g. Hagler-Hearns.

As for Khan, he sounds like a spoiled kid taunting a tiger in a cage.

Its not Khans fault that Maidana faked a back injury and talked himself out of a Bradley/Khan fight, Every Hispanic must condemn and renounce Maidana as the Messiah and expose him for the false prophet that Maidana truely is!

Everyone Knows Maidana ducked Bradley/Khan for $! As such he has lost all credibility as a boxer and must be universally denounced as the money grabbing hispanic that he really is!

I don't think anyone in the 140 lb division is scared/ducking Con.

Quit fooling yourself about Con. Him trying to fight smaller guys from a lower weight class is proof of the inner p***y in Con.

He acts like he's done something in the sport, when in reality, he hasn't fought ANYONE except a B-class, feather fisted Paulie and a WAY past his prime Barrera.
