does that distinguish everything he done in the sport? Does that mean he still ain't one of the gifted fighters who ever lived?
Does that mean he is still without a doubt the most skillful man to ever put on a pair of gloves?
No.
Bob Arum once compared this man to Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali,
Any REAL boxing fans can respect Floyd for what he has done for the sport,
And Any REAL boxing fans will admire and respect his talent, just they will for Manny Pacquiao.
Give Mayweather props where he is due, People are quick to call him a ***** and a coward for not signing the contract, But he hasn't spoken so how do we know why he wouldn't sign the contract?
How to we know for sure what Kind of contract he was offered?
In Floyds own words "If it makes money, it makes sense."
And no fight out there makes more money then this one, This fight will happen.
Not this year but next year, when his uncles trial is over and there is no tax bull**** and HOPEFULLY Manny can justify getting a 50/50 split with a good PPV fight so there is no negotiating troubles.....
Mayweather fans unite! Lets stand by the greatest of this past decade and the most skillful man to put on a pair of Gloves......
Sign here, people.Originally posted by REASON * View PostRight now Manny Pacquiao does not deserve a 50/50 split,
Manny, Arum and Roach have all said they would not fight Floyd for anything less,
I trually believe if they did go into negiotations looking for 50/50 it is what stopped this fight from happening.
Bob Arum says he’s going to revisit the negotiations for a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight next year in May, but if Arum is offering mostly the same old negotiation terms that were used in the first failed negotiations in January, then he probably needs to save himself the time by not bothering. Unless Manny gets good PPV numbers against either Cotto/Margarito which will deserve a 50/50 split which I can't see happening.
Nobody wants to see either fight.
I'd say Mayweather is willing to walk away from the countless millions he would make in a fight with Pacquiao unless he gets a bigger cut. It's all about ego's here.
Arum, or in this case Ross Greenburg, might be able to put together a deal where Mayweather gets 55 to Pacquiao’s 45. That might work well enough to satisfy Mayweather, I can't see anything else working.
Arum and Pacquiao need to acknowledge that Mayweather is the bigger pay per view attraction, this fight will likely never get made. Because they are not gonna get PPV numbers fighting Cotto or Margarito that will justify a 50/50 split with Floyd, Lets face it.
Anytime you have a fighter that is bringing in less money in PPV fights than another, one of the fighters is going to want the bigger money. That’s just normal. But if Mayweather does it, its "ducking."
And when you throw in the fact that one of the fighters is also unbeaten, it makes it even more of a compelling reason why the unbeaten star should get the bigger money.
I hope Arum and Pacquiao learn from this.
When Floyd fought Marquez and his PPV number just topped 1 million and Manny-Cotto did 1.25 million, didnt Manny agree to a 50/50 split.
Whilst Floyd was off on his retirement, Manny beat Oscar (weight drained or not), Hatton (Unbeaten at JWW) and Manny had the deceny to accept 50/50.
Now that Floyd PPV numbers were better than Manny's in the last fights, what gives Floyd the right to refuse a 50/50.
As a Floyd fan, he is ducking Pac-man and their is nothing more to it.
