Every pinoy that i know of after the first fight expected Manny to just run down Marquez this time and finally knock him out, i guess they where really dissappointed at Manny and readily gave the win to Marquez without really analyzing the fight carefully first... It was a very close fight but if you watch the fight entirely in slowmo you will see that manny landed more meaningfull punches in the exchanges, and the 1 KD plus that one punch that wobbled Marquez badly in the latter part of the fight made the big difference.... You see, i also like Marquez, i think his also an ATG material, but in a very close fight for it not to be called a draw the judges has to go with who gave the most punishment, who inflicted the most damages...

Manny has superb timing specially of late.... What he talkin about willis. I did not read the whole post because im just skimming through this board but anyone questioning Manny's timing is absurd... Accuracy is a bi product of not just his speed but his timing and Manny is one of the more accurate punchers in the sport. Watch Pacs footwork and in and out/lateral movement... to catch Margarito, DLH, and cotto who is not slow, that is all timing

I know this is a while back but I was just responding to someone who said that Manny needs to time Floyd but later on said Manny's timing sucks ..... so I said he contradicted himself .... later he tried to explain himself. So it was just a response to another post....

I had said, Manny would need to use everything he has in his arsenal to beat Floyd ..... including timing.

Yes Manny had trouble with very good counter punchers in the past, but still Manny found a way to win. Great fighters always finds ways to win, just like Ali an underdog against the hard hitter Foreman when they fought in Africa or Duran who was never given the chance against the very slick fighter in Leonard when they first fought...

exactly, floyds style is completely different than marquez

there is no question pac is very hitable....right or wrong, pac gambles on trading punches with his foes..on the notion that he will get the better off it....for examples...jmm may have hit pac more on the two fights...but knockdowns steal the cake in the score cards...also pac's fight with marga is another example

Mayweather is a much, much, much better defensive fighter than Marquez, hence the reason Marquez was only able to land 69 out of 583 punches which equals %12.

Juan Manuel Marquez vs "The New & Improved" Pacquiao in their 2nd fight was able to land 172 out of 511 punches which equals a connect percentage of 34%. Marquez was actually able to OUTLAND Pacquiao in BOTH fights they had. Also in both fights Pacquiao threw 100 more punches than Marquez but was unable to outland the flatfooted Marquez.
