Because they have to bust a move and get the promotional stuff going for the November 13th date that they have reserved for the fight. If they wait till the deadline with no plan B (a plan B that also has another big name in it to garner PPV buys), they may not get things finalized till August. That leaves them a little over 3 months to promote the fight as well as train.

I don't know who to believe but I seriously doubt that all these people in the know are saying that Arum and Mayweather's team met to discuss things when they never did. I seriously doubt they would publicly say they sent Floyd a contract and that he would remain so silent if indeed they did not send the contract to him.

So they cant wait a week or 2? BULL****!!!! Cotto or Cheato aint going no where. If this was really about wanting to fight Floyd they wouldn't be publicly pursuing other fights in the press but the truth is they don't wanna fight Floyd they are just trying to make him look bad. The word out is the contract is the same thing Floyd said he wouldn't do, 50/50 and 14 days OST.
Shaefer has been putting the word out for Marquez/Pac 3 which clearly says he doesnt feel Floyd is gonna play games with Top Rank. He may have faxed a contract to Floyd but he also knows that Floyd is gonna stand by his demands.

Umm, we're not talking about a couple of average boxers here with other options...
Pacquiao can't get a better opponent than Floyd and vice versa. These guys are the best of the best currently, and it would be a damn shame if these two don't get in the ring a face each other. You can't find a bigger and better fight than that. That's the whole point!
But I agree, Arum and Pac team should STFU and use all that energy to get Floyd into the ring instead of gossiping to the media every five seconds!

40% against Floyd is more than 3 times what Manny would get for Cotto 3 or Cheato.

floyds 0 can go against pac thats why he is unsure about this fight. Pac has offered him out he has made concessions from the last negotiations and we aint hearing nothing from floyd and the deadline is almost up. I think this is a smart move on the floyds side because his marketability will decrease if he loses to pac. He needs the 0 record to keep himself relevant in all aspects of his life.

Give credit to Team Mayweather for keeping quiet throughout the whole process. My guess is they are waiting until the World Cup is over so they can have the spotlight all to themselves for an announcement.

sounds like theres some truth to this....the only people who can't see that dude is terrified of takin a "L" are Stevie Wonder and dude's die hard fans....all NORMAL people can see this.....he still the best fighter skill for skill on the planet.....he just needs to drink some of that "I dont give a ****" juice and go in like the Gorilla Dog he says he is....its gettin hard not sayin' either dude's name so I hope they ink this **** and get it poppin soon!!!
