When will people realize that if GBP was not involved in these negotiations there would be no dispute on purse splits. It would be 50/50 and we would move on to the fight of the decade Mayweather versus Pacquiao!

When FMJ fought ODLH he obviously gave GBP options on his promotional rights and therefore a piece of the pie whenever he fights. Thus, Floyd's people(Haymon and Ellerbe) are trying to make sure that Floyd takes home as much as Pac and the only way to do that is get Floyd a bigger cut of the purse to off set whatever GBP is going to be due.

If GBP did not have options on FMJ why else would anyone in their right mind let them be part of this negotiation? It is not to protect FMJ's best interest because he has Al Haymon for that.

This exposes the real truth which is that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is contractually obligated to fight for Golden Boy Promotions. He is in fact not self promoted by the sham company that is Pretty Boy Promotions. He is promoted by Golden Boy. His ego does not want anyone to know this but the facts make it impossible for him to deny it. He needed Oscar to start making "mega fight" type of money and Oscar and Schaeffer knew this. That is why they made him give promotional options to GBP in order for the opportunity to fight Oscar.

If what you are saying is true (DC) then why did Floyd agree to a 50/50 split the first time around? I believe you are coming up with a complicated reason to a simple question. It isn't a question about fighting style or the best fighter but it is an economic question. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Floyd he is a market draw. HBO knows it, cable companies know it, satellite companies know it, and most importantly Floyd M. knows it. After the first failed negotiations and the selections of the Clottey and Mosely; the next negotiations were in trouble because of the ppv numbers.

Simply going from a business angle; if you sell 1.4 million compared to my 700,000 crock pots or ppv shares would you be willing to give me half of the profits if we merged companies. If your company continually outsold my company, why would you be willing to give me an equal number of shares in the business. That is like ATT merging with T-Mobile or Sprint and both parties having 50% controlling interest that would never happen.
