Couldn't of said it better myself, incase you didn't notice there's two sets of rules in boxing. The 1st set of rules pertains to floyd and the 2nd set refer to Manny. Its comical when you listen to it. Everybody who thinks that Manny is on Floyd's level always points to the De La Hoya and Hatton fight as a basis of comparison. Saying that since Floyd went the distance with de la hoya and 10 rds with Hatton then Manny can pose those same threats. However, when you look at the common opponent that manny had problems with, JMM and use the same analogy its and unfair comparison because JMM moved up 2 weight classes.
Personally im sick and tired of hearing how Floyd ducked this one and that one, im just curious to know, out of all the people that Floyd has been accused of ducking how many of them weren't associated with Bob Arum or his advisor Al Haymon. (Makes a difference) However when you hear Freddie Roach admit that he refused Mosley for Pacquiao because in his words " Your not De La Hoya and your 2 good". That kinda sounds like ducking to me. After he trained de la hoya for the mayweather fight Freddie Roach went on record and said that Oscar couldnt pull the trigger, so what does he do, he ask's De la hoya to move down to ww (a division he didn't fight at in over 10 years). To me that sounds like taking the easy fight.
I love Pacquiao's fighting style and its very appeasing and crowd pleasing, but name one welterweight he fought that was in the top 5 when he fought them at WW. Cotto doesn't count because he fought him at 145lbs and De la hoya doesn't count either because he wasn't even ranked in any division at the time they fought. You can make a longer list of guys that pacquiao should've fought than mayweather's list. I can honestly say that Miguel Cotto and Margarito are the only 2 names that Mayweather couldve or shouldve fought, but when you look back at the history between him and there promoters did anybody ever think those 2 fights would happen.
Since Manny moved up in weight he's been handpicking beat or shot opponents, guys that have to lose an incredible amount of weight (like Morales the 2nd time or De La hoya) or guys that looked shot or loss there previous fights, like Hatton and Clottey. I give him credit for moving up in weight and beating bigger guys, but im not sucking his d;ck for it. He had a pit stop at 135lbs, when Juan Diaz was ruling that division and even called him out, he couldve fought nate Campbell, or at 140, timothy bradley or kendall holt **** even Ricardo Torres. Like manny avoids these fights and people say it doesnt make business sense or Manny's more about legacy than Money, but he forces Clottey to take a 90-10 purse split, after his legacy is already secure. I agree with sr. here, Mayweather should be fighter of the decade not manny but you can't go wrong with either one, but one is undefeated the other has only fought 3 guys at their respective weight classes as he moved up. (Diaz, Hatton, and CLottey) Over hyped
