what do you think of the points I made in OP?

Do you think I was correct in my judgement of the 3:00 mark?

When Nigel Benn landed his forearm at the 3:00 point in the video.

Do you think that's what did it?

Julian Jackson was the man that started the damage IMO. I think those boys took some years off each other in their first match up. Julian Jackson hit harder than Benn IMO, I think that residual damage hurt him, by the time he walked in I think he was already injured just didn't know it.

That said a fighter is a fighter, if he wants to quit then he has no heart, plain and simple. His job is never to want to quit, it is the refs and his corner who are suppose to be there for the safety of their own fighter. Wanting to quit is BS, that is unacceptable, these are modern day gladiators.

You can never convince me a fighter has the IT factor if he is willing to quit when Ortiz is that young. When they are older I understand, but to quit like he did is ******, it is wrong. This is a mans sport, boys, girls, and women make excuses.

Thats a great observation, I didnt notice that before. But heck yeah it could have started it. When I got ko'd I was hit with a similar shot, a hook that had the fore arm striking the back of my head. I didnt know that had happened until I saw the video of our fight. when it happened the referee didnt see it and we fell into a clinche. I slowly went down to one knee and the ref stood me up, wiped my gloves and i started teetering so he gave me an 8 count. honestly, i thought i had been head butted and actually told the ref that after the fight. man, it ****ed me up bad. those shots to the back of the head, especially a forearm, will mess you up.

A little side note here, when you are growing as a fetus your brain forms and comes together forming a ridge in the back of your skull. When your hit in the back of the head the brain bounces directly against that sharp ridge, tearing into the brain. When your hit in the face the brain will first bounce off of the front of your skull and then rebound into that ridge still possiblydropping you but doing no where near te same damage. The back of the head shots are brutal.

Anyway, i got up, finished the round but was still a mess going out for the next round where I was ko'd.

            Great observation though.

If I can find the tape I will post it here, those shots do ALOT of damage...................Rockin'

And your opnion is so accurate of how this forum would have treated McClellan if he had quit at that pont. They can not even imagine what its like in there, especially after taking a forearm to the back of the head. The world suddenly tilts as if you were in one of those fun houses where the floor is on an extreme angle. I remember after I took the shot standing up and stepping forward but the floor was soooo far away it seemed. Its crazy man and they just have no clue..........Rockin'

Thanks, I was worried that I may be writing BS.

How does it feel to take a punch to the head?

could you describe it in the most accurate detail?

When your first starting out learning it will give you an immediate head ache. For some reason you become "immune", if you would, after you've been fighting awhile but the occasional head ache will still show up.

Honestly, when your fighting your adrenaline is pumping so hard that you walk through the shots. Some shots will drain your nasal passages into your stomach. Some shots will flash the great white light in front of your eyes. And some shots will leave you out on your feet where, in your eyes, your still seeing the fighter in front of you but in your mind your seeing a distant memory. I remember being stunned and seeing gilligans island with the skipper sleeping in his hamack in a dark hut. I was seeing this but still fighting the guy that I saw in front of me.

I remember alot of shots would currdle my stomach, shots to the face. But its that bright white light, when your returning from it that lets you know you got nailed. Let these guys who call fighters biitches or quitters try to walk straight let alone defend yourself against a constant attacker after something like that.

If you want to know more I'll just have to think and recall abit. But let me assure you that these fighters are in no way bitches. Even the low level guys would make 99% of the forum their biitch in under 30 seconds.............Rockin'

This is a Gladiators sport, these guys are our modern day gladiators. You guys need to realize they understand what they get there selves into. Respect boxers and fighters, but this is a man's sport, a great fighter will have to have the fight stopped. These guys know the risk when they step in the ring. A miner know's it might be his last time entering a cave. A carpenter knows he might be walking up his last ladder. A fireman know's it might be his last hoorah on any fire. A police man knows he has a chance at getting shot for pulling over the wrong guy.

I am sorry but I do not believe in quitting in boxing. The fight should be stopped by someone else at Ortiz's age he should have stuck it out.

I still think the majority of that damage was started by Jackson. Jackson out right KO fighters. He didn't hurt then finish, he literally had fighters out. That man IMO hit harder than Benn and left more opponents with permanent damage than anyone. The G-Man took some monster shots, and I mean brutal shots and he was still awake, I don't think he had any idea his brain couldn't handle it.

McCellan had some serious wars and his messed up mental issues(dogs, women, shooting) helped him in this sport he was a hardened man. Mentally off he had the ability to not listen to his body when it told him not to be fighting in the first place. I do not feel sorry for him, though I do not wish it upon anyone.
