Seems to me that there is no recent quote from Mayweather, and this is just a reporter stirring the pot again.

[E=Slip Stream;8531582]"The latest rumors regarding negotiations," is this how you open this discussion? Should we be arguing facts after we hear a definitive statement from the Mayweather camp? Or maybe because it's Floyd the guy people love to hate, rumor becomes fact, and innuendo becomes law no matter how scant the evidence or tenuous the connection to reality?

Be that as it may when Mayweather's camp finally releases a statement I'm sure it will be endlessly dissected by some for evidence that he's trying to duck the fight. But like you said he made it clear that the terms of the negotiations would be different the second time around if he did better PPV numbers, which he did. So with that being the case how could the timing be bad? Negotiations usually take place after a fight, that's no surprise.

It just isn't reasonable for Manny Pacquiao's camp to think that simply agreeing to terms--which he could have accepted originally--from a failed negotiations are going to be enough now. In my humble opinion Pacquiao's PPV numbers were pretty good but they were significantly less than Mayweather's and the gate was lower as well. At the heart of all this give and take between fans boxing is a business, these guys aren't fighting for free and the punches are real. Mayweather knows that the accolades Pacquiao's getting are meaningless compared to the compensation the fighter receives for the risk that he takes. Belts have no more meaning than a boil on a tramp's ass, but how you market yourself does.

But back to Pacquiao accepting the fourteen day cut off all of the sudden. What changed? Did he get or is he getting treatment for his trypanophobia, or did he switch religions and he's less superstitious, or did he suddenly realize that needles are employed during a tattoo session? The facts are all there, someone blinked and his last name isn't Mayweather.

Why would Mayweather's fans turn on him if he's doing what he originally said he was going to do if negotiations fell apart and then resumed? In my way of thinking, some boxing fans are so desperate to validate what has been an extreme lack of judgment and business acumen on the Pacquiao side. They seem to grasp at any straw that blows along no matter how thin and crisp it might be. They grab at anything so long as it makes Pacquiao look more respectable after the revelations of the last negotiations and the terrible fight he fought against Clottey. They should have dubbed that fight "the battle of the arms" because it was Pacquiao savaging Clottey's arms all night long.

Why turn on a guy for doing what he says? And why would we not expect a prize fighter to try to get the biggest prize he can?
I agree, people fail to realize unlike all other professional sports boxing is 80% business 20% actually competing.

I seriously think that floyd is going to get the bigger split and once they clean manny's system he will accept the OST. I dont think Arum cared about the blood test, team pacquiao cared about it. Team Pacquiao is already gone get the short end of the stick anyways. Top Rank, Mayweather Promotions and GBP I think are going to make a lot of outside money from the fight not including the gate and ppv revenue. Here is my reasoning:
-Bob Arum didnt put the pacquiao vs clottey fight in dallas just so they could seat 50000 people because the gate wasnt impressive, I think he has an outside deal with jerry jones, that pacquiao doesnt get a part of. I bet he also has the same type of deal with the yankees owner. Plus he got his percentage of pacquiao's purse and clottey's purse.
      - Mayweather doesnt just fight in vegas, he only fights at the MGM grand. Just think about why would someone only fight at one place if they are not sweetening the pot. Mayweather can go to any other arena or stadium and do the same numbers. I know mayweather wanted the fight but I dont think that is the only reason that mayweather accepted a 50/50 split.
-GBP is going to get their money from promoting the fight in conjunction with top rank and MP. Plus they are going to get their percentage of pacquiao's purse and I'm sure they have some outside deals also.

So pacquiao is screwed either way, any money that he makes is going to be taxed almost 50% by top rank and GBP, upfront.

At this point I'm blaming it on Arum, who said he would keep it out of the media, and has done exactly the opposite. I'm sure he is a huge part of Mayweather being difficult as well.

So sick of this. F*** both fighters.

Likely he got like that from pouring out money for his supporters and his political c ampaigns which cost him a bundle I'm sure. He' entitled to 50%, he's far more famous and internationally known than Mayweather, the Fighter of the Decade and te year a few times etc. He's well within his rights to insist on at least 50%.

What did Mayweather do to earn 50% or 55%???? he beat Mosley, who put out the worst by far fight of his entire career. Not surprising since he isn early 39 and hadn't fought for nearly a year and a half. Bed realistic guys, he's not a miracle man, but a very good fighter who is too old, and rusty, to put up a worth while fight. Clotty put up a better fight.
you get red K for the bullshyt you said in the red. and for this whole ****** post.
