    He deserves to be elected.
Shaun George is the LHW journeyman who Byrd lost to when he dropped down to 175 lbs

since then, very ordinary Chris Henry knocked George out

close HOF'er fighters should NOT get in the HOF just because they were this close....

      GOAT (Pacman )
      ATG
      HOF'er
Very Good Fighters (this is where Byrd should be)
      Good Fighters
      ....
      ....
      ....
      ...
Worst Fighters (Eric Crumble, Reggie Strickland)

I would put Byrd in the HOF. Imagine fighting heavyweights with not that much power and still winning.

Byrd is the only man to have wins over Holyfield & vitali

Yes, Chris Byrd is a hall of famer. He had excellent skills and an impressive resume. There is no shame in getting destroyed twice by Wlad and dominated by Vitali.

                ^^^This is absurdly incorrect.

Chris Byrd was good for his size, but not a hall of fame Heavyweight.

I applaud him for making Vitali quit on a stool but I can name at least 10 Hws better than Byrd from 1990-2010.

Hall of Fame should be reserved for the 3 or 4 best guys from each decade. Hes not one of those guys....

                  Lennox Lewis would definitely disagree.

no way. his best win is tua and his second best win is over a faded holyfield unless you count losing every round to vitali then him giving up. fres oquendo was totally robbed. golota should have gotten the decision. a split decision over jameel mcline hmmm. just cause he was really small fighting at heavyweight doesn't mean he should get extra pity points.

I liked Byrd but would question getting in to the HOF. If he fought in many different eras he probably wouldn't have been a champion. Fortunitely he fought in an era where there was 4 titles to go around.
