Teddy Atlas Is Trying To Buy Povetkin Some More Time

The idea of drug testing is most definitely not coming from Sasha, but from his trainer Teddy Atlas. Atlas is a jackass and he's going to end up costing Sasha his mandatory ranking with the IBF, which he worked very hard for.

It's time to ditch him now.

People knew it was a bad move to bring him into the team in the first place, now he's going to blow Povetkin's big chance.

    Atlas is a cancer.

Teddy seems to think that if Klitschko doesn't agree to testing and the fight doesn't happen, that they will get the fight later on down the line, and Povetkin will keep his ranking. He won't.

He doesn't have faith in Povetkin's ability, clearly.

Povetkin's side are in no position to make these kind of demands.

There was never any issue with drug testing until Atlas joined Povetkin's team. I wonder why that is?

Atlas is trying to tarnish the reputation of a great European fighter, all the while giving himself more time to work with Povetkin.

Wlad doesn't need either Haye or Povetkin. He will sell out a 60,000 seat stadium and make plenty of money destroying someone like Sam Peter.

Wladimir said in his Ring ****zine interview he's in favor of OST and he will take the tests.

The Klitschko-hater Teddy Atlas was trying to use that to delay the fight but it won't work.

Atlas picked up that ducking strategy from team mayweather.

That's exactly what i thought. They're now all gonna use the same puss*-tactics like team Mayweather.

Teddy Atlas: "We just received an email from the Klitchsko camp asking what penalties Wladimir will face if he tested dirty, and if the test results can be kept secret from the public."

Was it in the printed version? I didn't see anything in the net.

Povetkin needs to "**** or get off the pot" i.e. either take the title shot or don't take it. He's been the mandatory challenger to the IBF title for 2 + years now...

I think Atlas knows that Povetkin needs a couple of more fights before he's ready, or atleast as ready as he can possibly be. They have to stop fighting the likes of Sykes and Mora though and fight against bigger opponents who can punch. Povetkin has shown that he can deal with the small, defensive types like Byrd, Chambers, Estrada, by overwhelming them with sheer workrate, but I'm not sure if he can deal with the size and power of a Klitschko.

Not that anything can truly prepare you to fight someone with the skills and size of Wladimir, as shown with Chambers who fought Peter and Dimitrenko, but he gave himself a chance.
