First off, there was no agreed upon cutoff date for the Mayweather-Mosley fight. Both fighters agreed to the USADA testing program, which included random blood and urine tests up until the fight, and a little afterwards. So it was up to USADA when, where, and how much each fighter would be tested. It doesn't matter if Mayweather and Mosley never gave a blood sample during the entire testing process, the threat was still there. Pac wants a peroid of time where there will be NO THREAT of testing. And by asking for this, he's eliminating the DETERRANT of random testing for a peroid of time. I doesn't matter if Pac says he needs a window of 30 minutes where he can't be tested. Random is random. And the randomness is the deterrant. That's what Pacquaio and his backers either don't realize or do realize, and simply fail to acknowledge.

peds, hgh, epo need time to be in the system to be effective.
the 14 days will not make big difference for manny even if he juices up for the fyt during that 2 weeks window!!

I mostly agree with you that Mayweather's crusade to clean up the sport is a joke but I am going to politely disagree with you re: the running from the fight thing

I have to be honest with you here....

Reading these Mayweather/Pacquiao threads is really hard work man.

I live in a different time zone than most guys here, and when I log on to a May/Pac thread for the first time there are sometimes over 40 pages of posts

After reading those 40+ pages I realise that the content of the entire thread is nearly identical to every single May/Pac thread this year.

They all end exactly the same way.....
After thrashing out all the various angles and opinions you have for the most part two differing viewpoints, depending on who your favourite fighter is.

Neither side is willing to bend on their opinion, because it will mean conceding something to the other side..... or more importantly, it will mean conceding something about their fighter. And noone wants to believe that their guy is less than perfect.

Personally, if this fight gets made, I'm just about at the stage where I'm hoping for a double KO in the 12th following a brutal war. Manny and Floyd are both acting like Prima Donna's.

I hope you really enjoy this fight if it happens bro, may the best man win.

I think I'm done with May/Pac threads, I love the knowledgable posts and hearing guys talk about their favourite fighter, but it takes soooo long to read 40-50 pages only to end up exactly where you were back in January

I agree. If the floy fans and the pac fans actually study the arguments in this thread, they would easily deduce that floyd demand drug testing and pac not agreeing to it is all about ego. They really dont care if the demand doesnt make sense or out of the ordinary. They're doing it because they just want to look bigger than the other.

Because "true" fans of either fighter and boxing in general, just want to see the best guys in this era fight. So I don't really get why fans are defending each other when neither of their actions are making this fight any closer.

One boxer is coming off a lackluster win against Clottey where he made 6 million + while the other is coming off a very impressive shutdown of the linear welter-wt champion while making 40 million + now you tell me who's afraid of who? The fighter that fights recently beaten fighters or the one who fights winning fighters? Then tell me who should be calling shots the 700g PPV dude or the 1.4 milly dude?

pac's handling of clottey wasn't lackluster as you saw it.

A 14 day cut-off, regardless of who offered it, is a reasonable compromise. If Mayweather refused i'd think it would be about as big of a ***** move as Pacquiao having done it in the first negotiation, although it's funny how 14 days is now okay, i wonder what's changed?

14-24 days cut-off was the stumbling block in their first nego.
pac doesn't want to be bullied by team floyd after their peds accusation that led to the defamation case.
pac's stand has changed because he really wants to give this fyt to the fans, and so he softened on his stand.
pac doesn't care much if he loses, that's been part of his rise in his career.
taking bigger and higher risk everytime he fyts....a step-up from the last!
floyd doesn't care to lose $40M......he cares about his "0".
imagine what would happen to floyd if he lose to manny....humiliated !!
this may be a big "IF"...but the possibility is there.

After FLOYD'S 15th year in Boxing.. now decides to clean up the sport by requesting blood tests on a guy who has never tested POSITIVE on drugs. It's just PAC that he's not sure of if he can beat..thats all. I wouldn't be surprised if he states.. "I'm P4P king now and I want 0 days" as a way of running from the fight again.

months before big floyd came out with the peds issue, he stated in an interview that lil floyd will have a hard time with manny the southpaw.
the shoulder roll will mean nothing to pac.
when the time came for manny-floyd nego, the peds accusation came from out of the blue...and lil floyd demanded random testing!!
manny conceded to 24-days cut-off....floyd came back with 14.
now manny is willing to take 14 days.....floyd already said 0-day beforehand... floydfans even saying a bigger slice of the pie.

he knows that he will be pressured to face pac, he's got nowhere else to go.
and so floyd jumped the gun on manny about the random testing.
floyd knows that pac will not let himself blood sampled very close to d-day, let alone on the eve of the fyt.
can't you see the trend in floyd's reasoning???
he will never run out of demand...just so the fyt with manny will not happen.
