But as i have said before i would watch a good boxing match 10 times over before i would watch a good ufc fight.
I dont think the sport will survive, once the fighters get older and start to show signs of mental deteriation (Eg. Ken Shamrock) people will realise how hazardous this fight is you the health and wellbeing of the fighters.
Joint manipulations, knees to the head and elbowing someone in the face while they are on the ground is a little less sustainable in comparison to punching someone in the face with an 8 ounce + glove on.
Im no doctor and even i can figure that out.

The thing is, if you happen to get into a fight with one of these mma fighters, you'd have to tell your wife and kids that you just got beat down by a dry humping *******ual!

I see plenty of room for both sports to be successful. I love boxing and I love mma. I come a wrestling background and I can appreciate the skill of the mma guys. I would choose to watch a MAJOR fight over MMA anyday. However, boxing fans need to demand better match ups and then get them. Also, we need to let go of the notion that a loss means a guy is no longer any good. MMA has succeeded in making their sport more interesting by changing the rules. MMA today is vastly different from the early days of the UFC. Boxing promoters need to make fights happen that fans want... when we want them. UFC is a dominating organization and all the fighters fight under Dana White. When Dana matches fighters together they fight, there are not two promoters playing politics. Boxing needs to take a step back and reevaluate how it does business. How many of us have thought... I wish I could make this match up? We wonder why we don't get Pac vs. Mayweather or Dawson vs. Calzaghe, or insert your own....
