Escalante and De Leon could also be used for GBPs fight either against each other or fighting for some kind of strap (IBF maybe).

Lopez could replace Gamboa but to me Gamoba is the one that needs to build more of a base that would be a good place to put an eye catching talent, John would be a very tough fight though but he is getting up there and Juarez was at times able to get in on him.

Top Rank has other talent they could use in their fight also but Peterson makes some sence.

I like Peterson but I think Katsidis would make for a much more entertaining fight for him than Soto.

Biggest ppv event in history. put together an undercard that would put some shine on some great young fighters and attract new fans to the sport.

If it was up to me I would go with:

Alfredo Angulo vs Saul Alvarez 10rds

Fernando Montiel vs Nonito Donaire 12rds

Amir Khan vs Timothy Bradley 12rds

angulo vs alvarez...no way that fight happens man.....golden boy knows better than that......

I like Peterson but I think Katsidis would make for a much more entertaining fight for him than Soto.

Maybe Top Rank would do that but usually how it goes would be 1 fight mathcing guys from each other stables then 1 fight for each. I believe Katsidas is still affiliated with GBP, but if he gets through his next fight and doesn't take a ton of damage he could get used for GBP fight. Or do that as the Top Rank GBP fight and put Gamboa in against qaility guy that he will look spectacular against.

Why not??? Noone wanted to see pacquiao vs delahoya either until the powers that be made us want to.

It would defnitely be a fun, action filled fight to start the broadcast off on the right foot, and if alvarez can rise to the occassion we could be talking about the birth of a superstar.
