Comments Thread For: Mayweather-Mosley Outcome Has Pacquiao's Attention

By Keith Idec - Manny Pacquiao’s preoccupation with a battle outside the boxing ring makes Mayweather-Mosley only the second most important fight of this month for the Filipino icon.

Election day is May 10 in his homeland, where the incomparably popular Pacquaio is running for a seat in the Philippine Congress. Pacquiao expects electoral success this time around, despite that he lost a congressional race in 2007 by a pretty substantial margin.

Dominant victories over Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto and Joshua Clottey have propelled Pacquiao to superstardom since then, and he is intent to use his status to branch out beyond boxing and help people in his impoverished country. Skeptics wonder whether Pacquiao is equipped to truly help at the political level, but he has promised prompt change for poor Filipinos who remind Pacquiao of himself before boxing became his path to fame and fortune.

He’ll take a break from campaigning to watch undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. (40-0, 25 KOs) and Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs, 1 NC) square off in a 12-round welterweight fight tonight in Las Vegas that’ll completely shape Pacquiao’s career later this year. [Click Here To Read More]

I would rather see Pacquaio fight Andre Berto rather than Margarito. It would be a much more competitive fight and one that Pacquaio could potentially lose. Also, it would be the first time in his last five fights and last three years that he has fought a fighter who was on his way up instead of on his way down.

Of course it has his attention. It'll tell him to duck the winner (Floyd) and fight the loser. (Shane)

So, in other words, Pac would pull a "Pacquaio" (aka fighting a guy who was beaten in his last fight and is on the way down)

No way i think a Marggarito in good fighting condition will give Pac a better fight then Berto would.....hes all hits hard and doesnt stop pressuring

Berto on the other hand is still young and doesnt have a good technique to beat a guy like Pac.....he barely got past Collazo and will not beat Pac

I think Margarito poses a more tougher match up then Berto. I think Margarito would be more competitive than Berto. I think Pac should fight Berto just cuz Margartio doesn't deserve it right now. But, I don't mind a Margarito fight either I think it would be really entertaing. And, like I said I give Margarito a better chance to beat Pac then I would give Berto...

I wouldn't give Pac any credit for beating Berto right now. He is just not ready and he would get dominated by Pac. I give Berto zero chance of winning.l

Pacquiao is praying Shane wins so not to fight PBF. But it's going to happen baby!!!! Fight Mayweather or leave the question marks out there!!!!

Actually Clottey has better technique than Berto he just doesn't have the output.
