Comments Thread For: Paul Williams: "Shane Mosley Will Stop Floyd Mayweather"

He's already offered Martinez a rematch, so that **** of him not wanting to fight Martinez needs to go out the window. And there are no interesting fights at 160 for him besides that fight, so what's the big deal about him not fighting at Middleweight? You want to see him beat up on guys like Gevor and Strurm? He won't make any fans with those kinda fights. The action is at 147-154 and if he makes the weight, he makes the weight.

I don't think Mayweather has anything to trouble Williams.
I just can't see Mayweather beating Willams who throws sooo many punches. Not that Mayweather would ever fight Williams that is.

Shane is a dominating fighter but only to guys that come forward
and are slower than him. Floyd is going to expose all the openings
that shane has and make him pay for every big, off balance, power
punch he throws. I think the fight will be entertaining but I see
Floyd getting Mosley frustrated because he can't land effectively
and get out of character. Surprising on how many people sleep
on Floyd. Until I see him rusty in the ring then I am always put
my confidence in Floyd pulling the W off.
with that said, people are sleeping on shane... yes, if shane goes out there wildly swinging... he will get caught. he will get "exposed". but i would like to think his training camp prepped him better than that... ****m knows better than that.... i think everyone on this damn forum knows that. LOL.
the question is whether shane can implement the plan and not lose patience... another concern is him running out of gas.
now, people talk about blueprints... i think its fair to say that floyds wins over judah, castillo, oscar shows some habits that shane can use to his advantage.... gunning for a KO will not work on floyd. patiently winning rounds with effective aggression proved to be successful against floyd...
the key is to have the judges on your side and aim for a decision.
• judah didnt have the discipline to keep up the work... but he DID do good in the early rounds... judah didnt have answers once floyd adjusted...
• castillo did well against floyd (castillo landed 173/377 in power punches, floyd landed 67/152) stats pulled from compubox.
• oscar did enough to win rounds with aggression (although ineffective) but still had the judges awarding it to him... but he ran out of gas.
my point is this: floyd does not like getting hit... he will cover up and shoulder roll... if a fighter were to stay active and throw effective combos, it can potentially nullify floyds offense due to him blocking and waiting for a counter... by doing so, a fighter can POSSIBLY win enough rounds against floyd. its not pretty nor exciting, but it will get the job done.
