Comments Thread For: Emanuel Steward: Mayweather-Mosley, a Dead-Even Fight

Hall of fame trainer Emanuel Steward is giving WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley a very good shot to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. this Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. At a recent HBO meeting, Steward was surprised that most of the HBO crew had Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs) as an 8-1 underdog in the fight. He thinks Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs) is going to have a very tough time. [Click Here To Read More]

Yeah, it could be very tough but Steward also is a Floyd hater. He's always dissing him and acting like he isnt that good. He's trying to sugar coat it now but I heard him the other day say something like either Shane is going to bring the best out of Floyd and he's going to look good or he will dominate Floyd and make him look like a very inferior fighter. He said it will be one extreme or the other. Nothing in the middle. However, you could tell the way he said it, he thinks that Floyd isnt that good and that Shane can make him look very bad & inferior and then Steward will tell everyone that I told you so but I have to give myself an out because the guy is undefeated and he may actually be better then I think so I will cover myself by saying Shane will bring the best out of him and he will look great.

He is biased..But what Floyd called him was completely unnecessary and disrespectful. No matter what anyone thinks of George Foreman, he used to gave Floyd his props back when he was an HBO commentator. But Emanuel always agrees with Merchant when it comes to Floyd.

The ref I agree will play a big part in this fight.Bayles is known to let the fighters fight and not get involed as much. This will not be a easy night for May no matter what the outcome Mosley by 11th rd KO or the ref stopping it.

Steward said the following fights were a tossup.

                    Margarito vs Mosley
                    Margarito vs Cotto
                    Pacquiao vs Cotto
                    Pacquiao vs Hatton
