Comments Thread For: Povetkin is Ready To Fight Wladimir Klitschko, Says Atlas

The coach for the official IBF challenger Alexander Povetkin, says the undefeated Russian fighter is ready for his shot at IBF/IBO/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. Coach Teddy Atlas denies prior comments that Povetkin is not ready to fight Klitschko. The IBF has given both fighters until April 26 to reach an agreement before a purse bid is ordered. So, now Haye gets a reason not to fight Wlad. This is becoming a little ridiculous, its going to be 2 years sooner or later and Wlad vs Haye still hasn't happened. Will Vitali have an opening for Haye maybe? I don't know us fans are just sick of this ****, we wanted to see a Haye vs Klitschko fight forever. I mean Haye has already had 4 fights at heavyweight, when is the Klitschko fight going to happen? Who is doing the avoiding? This is just giving me serious migraines!

I bet you some boxing fans who were looking forward to Haye vs a Klitschko already passed away from natural causes or just died from being an accident of some sort. I mean damn, when will they finally fight? The Klitschkos are not getting any younger.

Teddy doesn't sound all that convinced by his own words.

Is Teddy as good at training fighters as he is predicting fights?

If Haye agrees to a fight i hope Wlad just vacates the IBF title. Who give a **** about these alphabet title anyways. If he vacates it just becomes a paper belt anyway. I know him and his brother want to hold all of the titles at the same time but I think knocking out Hayes is more important.

LOL...If he keeps picking the underdog he is eventually going to get one right.

                  I know that

"at last" is more my own opinion than Atlas

"at last" is something Atlas would be saying if he were confident that Povetkin was ready

there's a lot of contradictions in what he's saying, the biggest one being that he thinks Povetkin is (will be) ready for Wlad, but he admits he would have liked to work with him a bit more in other fights, which means Povetkin is not ready, or else he wouldn't be saying that stuff

true, Wlad could just vacate the title, beat Haye (let's say he does), then come back to fight the winner of Povetkin/Peter to get all the belts in his family

problem is, it pushes back the dream...
