AA and Clottey don't let their hands go enough and blow fights because of it.

Is it a stamina issue or are they afraid of getting KO'd or another reason? Clottey's case is worse since he isn't a knockout artist and the style of boxing doesn't suit him much to not let his hands go. He needs to let his hands go if he doesn't got the power to KO his opponent.

that's just how they fight but AA is a little bit more aggressive than Clottey ever will be. A lot of fighters from Ghana adapt that same style.

Their styles kind of dumb though, they are a bit stationary at times unlike Mayweather Jr who makes his opponent miss him completely. I mean when you let your opponents tee-off on your gloves you're still taking a bit of punishment yourself. Because with how fast Dirrell was throwing his punches, even the punches that didn't get through AA's guard had an effect on AA because with his defense his own gloves would be hitting his face!

Floyds slick defense> stationary defensive shell fighters

How have you not noticed this before.

Whoever chooses to fight in that style of shell defense will have a tough time transitioning from defense to offense. They count on opponents getting tired.

Winky's been able to make the transition using that style better than anyone, but it happened to him against Paul Williams.

Punch output, good/fast footwork, and great stamina will usually beat those styles of fighters.

AA is for stamina, guy tires, i've seen alot of his fights, and he'll throw a flurry in one round, get tired for the remaining minutes of the round and take the next round off too

never seen him be aggressive and throw flurries in two consecutive rounds

Clottey, i think he just likes picking his spots, as they both do really

thats just their style. AA has one punch KO power and can change a fight just like that, clottey doesnt

its how they fight. they are like floyd, all of them defensive boxers. it's their mentality. if they don't have an opening, they won't punch. and if there's a chance that there will be return fire they won't punch.
