Comments Thread For: Wonjongkam-Kameda Incident: The WBC Comment

The image of the sport of boxing has been during the past one which novels, movies and other have used as one of the lowest levels in society for all types of dramas . The WBC has struggled during a quarter century to change its image in what it really is, as an opportunity for the poor of the world to become sports heroes and live a life of dignity.

koki's dad went ballistic and yelled at the WBC supervisor. he also berated and physically threatened a JBC official.

it'd be nothing serious in america, but its a serious offense in japan.

the kamedas should come to america. they'd fit right in.

apparently, the kamedas are the mayweathers of japan...well, maybe the poor man's mayweather.

japanese fight fans wont go to their fights but they'll tune in to see them lose. papa kameda's more belligerent than papa mayweather though.

Yeah, pretty much. I know he complained that Garcia should've taken a second point away from Wonjongkam.

            That's a pretty accurate description.

Though, I have read that Daiki and Koki has gotten more mature. Still, they do ****** things, like a few days ago on April Fool's they posted on their blog that they were retiring.

I've read Tomoki is still a bit of a loud mouth, but he's still very young, not even 19 yet.

Funny that Shiro was in the process of appealing to get his license back. Wonder how that will go after this.

Joe Koziumi doesn't even try to hide his hate for the Kameda's.

If people lose face in Asia, it's a big deal.

You don't do **** like Kameda did, and expect everything to be hunky dory.

People remember that **** and your name becomes mud pretty fast.

Are these ****** Kameda family members welcome in the United States? Are you really sure? I can make out a point that they are like Mayweathers, but I must tell you this. PBF has faced decent - if not great - opposition, while the Kameda brothers have met bummers and faded aged champions in Denkaosen and Naito. And yet, these kids and that insane father have clamed that they are the pivot of boxing. Just take a look at how and whom they fight. They are nowhere near Mayweather's league, except for their bad mouth and attitude. Shiro must go away.

And here is a tidbit of infomation. It is reported that the youngest of the brothers, Tomoki, was also taking part in the intimidation against the WBC's supervisor. In my very personal opinion, this brat needs to be banned for a year or two in Japan. Oh well, he has fought on Japanese soil only for once if memory serves me right.

I don't really like the Mayweather comparison either, although I understand it's for the purpose of simplification. Still, the two situations are really quite different, just as the settings of Japan vs. the US are obviously very different as well.
