LoL at however said that DLH can knock out Mayo. DLH is just like Vargas right now talking about the 150s but walking around in that "I am a pillbury dough boy" look @ 190. DLH has done nothing as of late compared to what he used to be..STRUM? Hopkins? By the same token Mayo hasn't done jack either but he did show something DLH hasn't show in a long time HEART. HE was getting his arse kicked and kept getting up unlike mr. golden boy and his "acting". ALthough it would be an exciting fight, Mayorga is too much risk for DLH he wont go near him....not to mention that a fight between these two would be a Arum/King marriage and that never happens unless you got TITO and HOya in there..Last edited by cybernica; 06-01-2005, 12:58 PM.

I'm picking Mayorga. Coz I like him. He can beat a boxer if the boxer isn't too fast on his feet like Vernon Forrest. DLH better get on his bicycle and do his flurry and run tactic like he tried against Hopkins.
Two things can happen :
Oscar by UD
Mayorga by KO

Let me quickly lay down the law. De La Hoya and Mayorga will never fight, the bout makes no sense for De La Hoya as De La Hoya has maybe a handful of bouts left in his career, and Mayorga is no longer a top flight fighter.
And one thing that has continued to bother me is the bias I see alot here. At 147, Mayorga was a threat and a serious fighter. At 154+, he is a catcher with little pop to his shot. Just because he can take a great shot and has balls of steel, doesn't make him a great fighter. Damn, was the Trinidad fight that long ago?

Originally posted by cybernicaI think the fact that he may have the best chin @ 154, and still should have some power in his punches combined with his "cojones" makes him a force to be reckoned with in that division. And your right it will never happen...but not because of what you said but more so because DLH has one more fight with ARUM(sort of he gets first dibs) and Mayo is a King fighter. DLH is not out looking for the best fights..he fought STRUM thinking it would be an easy belt at Middle Weight, not because it was a known name but rather a belt in another weight class. He will fight a no body in sept..his excuse to get a feel for the wieght class. (thats my 2 cents)
At 154 and up, Ricardo Mayorga is Randall Cobb, a major league catcher. He hasn't been impressive since the last Vernon Forrest fight.
