    Yuriorkis Gamboa's Ceiling?

Anyone care to speculate what you think Gambao's ceiling may turn out to be? As of now, I think he's arguably one of the most physically gifted boxers currently active. A great combination of speed and power and is amazingly slick. I was hoping, while in his prime, he'd one day be able to move up a class or three to Lightweight or Junior Welterweight to attract some mega fights, but he's a little on the small side. Anyhow, I think he can be a huge star if his current success continues.

Dream fights sometime in the future that could potentially be huge...

    1. Yuriorkis Gamboa (17-0) vs. Juan Manuel Lopez (28-0)
    2. Yuriorkis Gamboa (17-0) vs. Edwin Valero (27-0)

    Thoughts?

Gamboa VS Lopez is very likely to happen as long as they both stay on top. I think Gamboa could move up to lightweight at the most. He is too small for anything above that.

And yeah, his athleticism is very unique.

I agree on Lightweight being his likely class ceiling, which sucks considering all of the stars the JWW and WW classes have. Oh well, maybe we'll see some match ups with JMM or Juan Guzman. A Valero fight would be huge.

I hear Valero might be going up to 140. And I really doubt Guzman is fighting at 135 anymore. ****, maybe he was drained against Funeka the first time, so he came in at 144 last night.

Hard to see him going above LW, given his height, but he's not that much shorter than Pac, so who knows?

Too bad he didn't turn pro back when he was a flyweight, he could've done damage in more divisions.

I wish Lomachenko would've turned pro after the 08 Olympics, he's about the only guy I see matching Gamboa physically. But I heard he's waiting until after 2012.
