But he's going to start fighting top JWW fighters now that he became WBA champion even though his skills are not that good right now. I really just think he's a hype job by the way they've been controlling his career...But I can't see him going far with that horrible chin he has.
I think his skills are fine, he gets in gets out, uses his speed and power...

Since hes been with roach, hes stopped jumping it leaving himself open, he only attacks when he needs to.....

Of course they wont be at his best yet, but hes on a perfect track considering he is only 23 at the moment.......people think boxers should be at their best to early nowadays....look at every P4P fighter....and look at their age.....you will notice the average is probably 32-34 or something

Hes got a hell of a long way to become great, even if its not in the next 5 years...he will become a great, im just not sure how great

Ricky was considered great back then when he was beating B class and C class fighters also lol idiot. Anyone beating the opponents Khan has beaten would look good also. Only time will tell I guess, Let's just wait to see how he does against Paulie.

Well right now he is definitely not a great fighter and if you think so then you are clearly an amir nut hugger. Though, I do think he has potential, if his chin can hold up. He is big and fast and after seeing what Roach has done with Manny, it may be possible that one day he is a great fighter. I definitely think he has more god given skill and assets then what Ricky had, in my opinion. He is big at 140 and he will be big at 147, he has that going for him. I think he has to test his chin out eventually though, cause you can't go through your career avoiding heavy punchers.

ricky was great? lol i always thought ricky was extremely over rated. he had power but he was a wild swinging puncher. Any "boxer" would destroy ricky.

everyone fights c class fighters in the beginning. so did the guys in ur sig like Marquez and what not. once they hit their primes, that's when they fight other great figthers. so calm down. Amir is only 23. u will see a lot more...

Khan is a good fighter and had a super amateur style that I feel is not 100% suited to the highest levels in profesional boxing. His main asset is speed, he has very fast hands but while firing his salvos his head and upper body does not move much and he leaves himself open and is open to be hit . Against second tier opponents and small short fighters his speed will overcome them no problem. On the outside he is very good , to beat him the fighter must shut him down and close the distance and fight him on the inside where he is very limited but only really good top level guys will be able to do this, the Bradley's and Alexander's and Ortiz. The combination of poor chin and poor in fighting skills will prevent him from reaching the very top legitimately. I say legitimately because I am certain he will be managed in such a way to keep him away from punchers and good inside fighters so that his deficiencies will not show. I think there will be lots of talk about fighting the top guys but when it comes down to it those fights won't happen. My guess is the next time he comes unstuck it will be against someone he is expected to walk over not a top boxer.

Yeah, and in my opinion he needs to somewhat punish Paulie, Cotto did it, Ricky did it and if he wants to even have a chance at being a great fighter, he needs to do it.

It's funny how people say Ricky has always been over rated blah blah blah but back then, Everyone would talk about him like if he was Pacquiao. True Story.

I agree, If he looks average against Paulie, Then I don't think that will help out his career.

No, because Hatton at least fought the big names when they were Prime, Khan won't.

That is true. Khan is much more brittle than Ricky. Ricky was a pressure fighter and a body puncher,Khan throws most of his flurries to the head and is a hit and hop it merchant . Their styles are totally different.
