I wish I knew. I guess both fighters are born with it?

Born with it definetly it not something you can attain from weights or powders and crap. You can harness it with a good trainer though.

Trinidad..... a combination of Speed and Technique. He appears to have very heavy hands.

Tszyu.... incredible physical strength for a guy his size and suprising hand speed. He appears to have VERY heavy hands as well.

What do you mean by "heavy hands"? They literally weigh more than the average hand? Or the way he punches?

It means what it sounds like. Some people have more heft to their hands than others.

Stance, punch velocity (speed of the punch, e.g., a bullet penetrates an object because of proper velocity), helical movement of the punch as it is about to land (the best ones sort of twist the fist inward right before the punch lands), timing and the punchers' body-weight-behind-the-punch principle: all put together in one fluid motion. These are what I remember trainers tell their wards.

Execution is the key, so I've heard it said.

I think confidence is something under-spoken about when it comes to power in a punch, if you can see yourself knocking a guy out, you can knock him out..

As far as Tito Trinidad goes, and alot of other power "hookers" the key to it is the rotation you put into the hips, and how quick and far you can **** back the punch and deliver it...If you look at when Hopkins knocked him out, and pause right at the time Hopkins throws the uppercut you see how lightning quick Tito throws the lefthook applying all those principles, Hopkins just beat him to punch..

Holy **** Jack you didn't abuse Tito in your thread. Impossible I can't believe you didn't say something about the hand wraps. On the serious side I would really like to know how Trinidad did become such a serious power puncher when he wasn't really known for having much power in the amatuers. In fact I remember a hearing/reading something to the effect that when Tito turned pro he wanted to get more KO's. Does it have to do with training or a natural born ability.
