It was exactly what I expected...

Yet I still am impressed with what Pac did. Observations:

-Impressive body attack displayed by Pacquiao. He was very consistent with it and mixed it up. That's what we heard from Roach in camp and you could tell Pac was focused on it.

-Clottey is a damn fool. I knew he would rely too much on his defense but still, the guy fought like he expected Pac to let up at some point, by the time he realized that wasn't going to work it was far too late. He has all the skills, he needs someone that can get him to use them.

-Pac was very open for the right hand. That's something Floyd would massacre him with, and is a good reason why Pac was fighting Clottey and not Mayweather last night.

-Staying with a potential Mayweather fight, the restraint Pac showed in his combinations was very impressive and would be a big factor if he fights Mayweather. He knew when to stop, when to keep throwing, where to throw, he was very methodical and that is very important against a counter puncher like Mayweather.

-Clottey was massive in that ring. Stop any talk of weight restrictions. It was very funny to see a much smaller Manny Pacquiao covering and leaning into Clottey hoping to instigate a little action.

So, very good fight for Pacquiao, disappointing for Clottey, but you can see Manny continuing to improve. Now he better fight the Floyd-Mosley winner.

    Good post.

Speed advantage always shows up more when you let the opponent operate from centre ring, Clottey should of been pressing Manny near the ropes not trying to counter him, it seems to me Clottey tried to take a leaf outta Cotto's book who had success countering him, tha said i expected him to throw down later in the fight when it was not working but he was limp the whole night.
