The worst we can do is talk bad about Castillo...I'm pretty sure he had his reasons to keep fighting, whether it was money or to prove he could still do it. Let's remember him for the warrior he was.. I was really sentimental about tonight's performance. Gomez was a walk in the park for Castillo if he was primed. for me that is the only man to have beaten Mayweather.

    Best of luck Temible.

Castillo is only 36-years-old but he went through many wars during his pro career, including the war with Diego Corrales in 2005, which is considered one of the greatest ring battles of all-time. In their first meeting in 2002, he nearly handed Floyd Mayweather Jr. his first pro loss. [Click Here To Read More]

Whatever the true nature of Jose Luis Castillo and Bob Arum might be in 2010, it's a whole lot better than the low carbon being that wrote the vile piece of **** below. I don't know what else you hate in the world more than you hate yourself. To produce such vitriol about a mere fight is pretty pathetic. Eat dirt and die.

A typical stinking undercard bearing the signature of the
"long nosed" promoter who is coming up with an even worse event when he throw in his ***ish brother with Cotto...if this was a stinker you haven't seen what is coming...

I find it sad that Jose Luis Castillo was the last one to know that.
I don't think he was the last to know that. I believe that he was the very first to know.

He MUST have seen during his training for the fight, that he should retire, and his sparring partners and trainer, would be joint second to know.

If I were in his position, and fighting a dub like Gomez, I'd take the fight, since it was already arranged, and hope to finish either a winner or on my feet.

He did the right thing, but for his own health's sake, should have done it a lot sooner.

            It comes to us all.

I'd really like everyone to forget about the burn-out, and to remember the flame....

Who is this .....creature? I nearly made an error and said "person". ........Don't tell me, I don't want to know.........

I saw that Castillo was finished in the first round of his Hatton fight, when his legs buckled from an inocuous left jab. It was then I wrote that he was finished as a fighter, and should retire.

Evidently he didn't hear me, ......or the many others who said the same.

well, he did his best, and will always be remembered with Diego Corrales.

I always find it sad when I hear those words.

It's a shame he is broke and has a big ass family to help look after.

It was extremely sad to see that, unbelievable that was the same man who arguably beat Floyd Mayweather and participated in one of the greatest fights of all time. But I guess many of them go out like that.

Here's to a really good fighter who gave us his all.
