Wow! Pacman was incrediby impressive last night. Until last night I still wasnt sold on him at welterwieght. Even though he looked great in his last four fights I thought it had more to do with his opponents than him but I see I was wrong. Now more then ever I feel that we are never going to see Pac vs Mayweather.

just funny that all pac fans say they dont want him to fight pbf because it would be boring they would rather much see him fight someone (like all of his last opponents) that tries to slug with him. wont move, not fast, coming off a loss, with nothing to lose... thats just funny to me anyone else feel me?
anyway cong**** to pacs victory very wack fight but he handled his bis hes a warrior in the ring just would love to see him fight a guy with footwork and technical skills and hand speed

Yes, every time Clottey punched he connected, its just that every time he dropped his guard he would get punched in the face. I dont blame Clottey for covering up for most of the bout. He went into it thinking what the others have thought, "hes not that fast, i can take it" then they get in there and its too much. I think you would have to go down to Lightweight to find fighters as fast as Pacquiao and he has the power of a welterweight.

Clottey= stationary target, doesn't move, no offense
Cotto= came off a beating, poor defense, tends to brawl, suspect chin
Hatton= came off a beating, no defense, comes straight at you, brawler
De La Hoya= washed up, fought at a weight he ounce fought back in '99.
Diaz= paper champ, C= level brawler
Pac & Co. matchmaking got better, so did the bulk of his muscles.
Mayweather Vs Pacquiao is not going to happen. It's going to be Mosely or Margarito or retirement. They don't want to face an upgraded version of Juan M. Marquez. They keep saying they "want Mayweather". Those are lies to fool the public to thinking they really want it and not ducking.

THAT was the worst PPV I have ever purchased in my LIFE!!!!!! My ol' Lady thought that Clottey would do something spectactular.........So I bought the fight. This fight played out exactly how I thought it would; with Clottey not putting a decent punch output out, and Manny just throwing punches not connecting cleanly, letting his frustration show. I am now COMPLETELY convinced after last nights performance from Pac that Floyd would undoubtedly school Pac in the worst way. I saw WAY too many mistakes from Pac, and not just any mistake but the very same mistakes Cotto didn't make him pay for. Freddy has ALOT of work to do with Pac before the put him anywhere near Floyd Mayweather Jr. I wont even comment on the undercards. They're just not worth mentioning.

True, Clottey's lack of offense did him in, but that has always been his M.O. He reminds me of my man Winky Wright when he fought Paul Williams. The volume of punches coming at him just didn't allow him to come out of the tortuise shell defense. Styles make fights and Pac vs. Clottey was simply a stylistic mismatch. Pac did what he should have and just kept throwing punches. That said, at the end of the night Pac looked worst for wear than usual. So those of you that feel he should have been in the ring hitting a heavy bag, I must say i have never seen anyones face look that beat up from a heavy bag. Clottey landed some hard, clean, effective punches against Pac, he just didn't throw/land enough to have a chance to win. Matchmakers, analyst and boxing fans should have known that going into this fight. We all should have known better than to expect anything else.Last edited by trufightfanatic; 03-14-2010, 08:00 PM.
