The most amazing thing about Pacquiao right now is

The most amazing thing about Pacquiao is that he is doing something only two fighters, that I know of, in the history of the sport has done which is fight two weight classes above his normal weight and dominate elite fighters. Most guys may grow into a weight class etc....but Pac is a 135lb dominating WW's. Only other time I can think of was when Robinson was a big WW but going up and dominated MW's and when Armstrong was at 126 and was going up and beating LW's and small WW's. I say this because I'm blown away with the thought that most on this site think Manny against Margarito, Clottey, and Mosley would be complete wipeouts. I don't but to believe that a guy who should be at 135 can go up and dominate huge WW's is mindblowing.

Pac is not 135. He is fighting from the 142-144 range right now. Still hella impressive, but not accurate.

Well then you got your haters that jump in. The second Manny gets his feet wet in WW waters, they are expecting him to fight all the guys you mentioned and then saying his career isn't complete unless he does. That's ****** talk as if they never knew he had a career below WW. Many including myself thought he was as good as he could get after his 3rd fight with Morales. Hell even a Top Rank commentator mentioned that in his bout following 3rd Morales fight against Solis. To me, everything he's done post Super Featherweight has been the icing on the cake.

that is because he doesn't cut weight like 99% of the fighters in the sport. He has always came in 144-149 fight night even when he was at 130. I've been saying this for the longest and I'm glad roach confirmed it in Road to Dallas last night. He can easily make 135 especially if he got off of that high calorie diet that he is on.

As opposed to the 147 fighters, most of whom come into the ring at 156-160?

Hell Paul Williams was 165 in the ring in the first Quintana fight.

              I believe that's what he's talking about.

I doubt he could make 135 any more.
Roach is perhaps the least credible trainer in the business when it comes to talking about his fighter.

He is just full of ****.

I respect your opinion if you feel that way. I just say that because he doesn't lift weights to get there, rather gains weight by calorie intake. I have played sports and I have done the same thing. When you do it like Pac, then its very easy to drop the weight you have gained without being affected.

I use to do it all the time because for football I had to be at 210, then by basketball season I dropped to 190 and for track I would drop to 180. By staying away from excessing weightlifting and doing diet/nutritional plans to gain weight, its very easy to gain the right type of weight and drop it off when deemed necessary.

Pac is a 135 fighter, even though he has stated himself that he can't and won't make that weight anymore?

Also, Oscar De la Hoya at WW was not elite, Hatton is not regarded as an elite fighter by any means, especially after his defeat to PBF, and Cotto was far from prime.

He has been carefully matched with a style of fighter that will make him look unbeatable, ever since his near loss to JMM. The weight is not too much of an issue - ODLH was severly weight drained, 140 with Ricky is Pac's natural weight now and Cotto was fought at a catchweight suitable for Pac.

Once again Pac has been matched against a guy in Clottey, who, in Roach's own words, cannot fight unless Pac is stood right in front of him, is flat footed, with very little movement and average speed and punching power.
