but lets be serious byrd and ruiz dont hit hard and could never KO someone like that... byrd is a 1000 time more skilled than brewster... my point is brewster beat a good guy he matched up well against, doesn't prove to me he can beat toney, byrd, or VK...

My theory is any man over 200 isnt going to hit like they have pillows for hands, Ruiz has shown he can hurt you and punch. He did knock down Evander Holyfield and packs a punch.

The same formula that Lamon showed tonight is the same exact way to beat Byrd. While this matchup will never happen, it is still good to think about. Have you ever seen the Ibeabuchi fight with Byrd? Ibeabuchi came out and swarmed Byrd the same way Lamon did against Golota and knocked him out in the 4th. I believe Lamon does pack a serious punch, he doesnt have 28kos for nothing. I think he wouldnt come out and slow start against Byrd and I think if he swarmed him like Ike did he would stand a viable chance at beating Byrd and possibly knocking him out. However Byrd has a heart of gold and a knockdown or two wouldnt mean anything, Byrd would keep getting up however the ref would probably stop the fight.

It would be interesting to see how well Lamon would do against Vitali, Rahman fights exactly like Lamon and I believe Lamon would have the stronger chin. So if Rahman and Vitali get it on we could get a great emphasis on how that fight would play out. Vitali would try and bully Lamon for sure but Lamon would be there waiting for him. With Vitalis awkward movement a swarm technique wouldnt be a bad idea either, especially if you caught him when he was backing up.

No, it was 2004 against Ruiz. Well, it should have been anyway.

lamon is no ike, he's more like tua... ruiz and byrd can score some KO's but they're not big punchers and dont hit hard enough to bring out the quiter in golota... styles make fights, LB will struggle to beat skilled, durable fighters... hell, even not so durable ones, like shufford and etienne

I would rate Lamon above Tua, just for the fact he is on the rise and doesnt have the whole weight issue either. He survived Wlad and that is enough to garner my respect considering Wlad was a top guy.
